If you could have your house on any river, lake or sound, what would you choose? Not living on any(but considering purchase), it's a tough choice. The thought of walking out your back door to hop in a boat is very very tempting. It would also be great to throw in a line off the bank, or off a dock. Or the Sound with the variety of BIG fish, salt and sunsets?

Some of you are fortunate enough to live on these places. Can you share some of the good and bad points? It's a given we live in an area where were not far from any of these areas. I'm leaning towards the lake personally, mostly because I could leave a boat in the water almost all the time, and my house wouldnt get washed away. But a river spot would be great and is probably more in my price range. Or does it even matter since it's all so close?

Any comments welcome.

I have had waterfront property on the sound it was nice watching my crab pots, ship traffic(etc) I live on a lake now and find myself enjoying it and using it more(swimming, fishing, sitting on the dock) hard to find good property on a river most of the stuff worth having is just as expensive as other waterfront which ever you choose it beats the h@ll out of looking out your window and seeing nothing but houses laugh
