Well, as much as I hate to fish and tell, I just can't resist. Just got back from from number one Canadian favorite...factoring in asthetics, fish numbers, and numer of people I saw (1). The only drawbacks are that it takes a 1.5 hour drive from B'ham, a 40 minute boat ride, and between a 40 minute to 2.5 hour bike ride. All this is through unbelievable country. The silvers are just nosing into the lower 7 kilometers of river, and the hordes of dollies as right in tight behind them. If anyone wants specifics, I am looking for a fishing partner next weekend. I'd prefer you had a motorcycle and/or a two man inflatable drift boat of some sort. Mountain bikes are hard work. I'll take care of the getting us up there. We need to leave B'ham by 3:30 Friday night.
All catch and release except for the one we eat for dinner.
Rockcod

Our personal fish count for this weekend was 30-40 dollies for 2 of us, and about 8 nice rainbows. All released but one rainbow.

I know where that is at, are you staying at the lodge or cabins? Is he transporting you in his old gillnetter or are you using your own boat to get up the lake.
This sounds like somone I know, could it be Mat?

Bob-
Yep, it's me. Matt Allen, aka, fishingking, or rockcod. If you're looking to get some more coho, (I'm sure Alaska didn't treat you all that well this year) let me know. I did run my boat up there. I have a older 18' Glaspar with a 135 Johnson. I'm embarassed to admit this, but on our way back from the river, I ended up in 1.5' water. Had to kicker my way out to the channel. Anyhow, Justin (from H&H) and I had a good time.
Take care,
matt

unfortunately, the upper pitt river (just taking a guess) is not a real zipper lip up here. The river is accessible by jet boat and right now there is a big push to ban jets. There is a guiding operation there that has a truck and lodge at the top end of the lake to transport people around. If anybody wants to go there , they should look up STS guiding . One good thing is ALL the fishing is catch and release. A couple of years ago the fishing show "Fishermen's Heaven" did a show up there in the spring time. They caught a steelhead and Bull trout on flies.
