How long can a guy count on nice Silvers being in the Chehalis/Satsop? Late November?

At the risk of being shot for giving out zipper information, the Satsop will have runs of coho through to the end of the season - January 31, 2004. Now, the hatchery fish will shoot up to the hatchery in a hell of a hurry once they hit the river. Pretty much any coho after the end of November that are in the Sop will be a wild fish that deserve our respect, and in my opinion, careful release back to the river. The state record coho was caught in the Satsop in January. What magnificient fish these wild, late, cohoes are!

There will still be silvers in the Satsop after you should be shifting focus to winter steel.

The late run silvers are zipper information? Surely you jest. I ain't buying it. That's about as well known as the Hoh being a good steelhead river. I was fishing late silvers on the Satsop over 30 years ago, and it was well known even then. It's just that there were fewer folks willing to drive to the Satsop - at any time of the season.

I think I first heard about the late satsop hook nose in Amatos rag.Never fished it though as I hear about the crowds and stay away.
