I'm heading to Chilliwack, BC this weekend to fish the Vedder. Anyone have a fishing update with all this rain we've been having? Fred's tackle's report is a couple of days old. I have a buddy that brought back a 46lb Chinook last week, but wonder if the river is blown out.

Oh yeah, after viewing the hydrograph Jerry posted, its blown. My experience is that when the fall/winter storms encompass the entire Puget Sound area (like this one), the Vedder will blow. It comes back pretty quickly, but look for a distinct peak and drop before fishing conditions improve in the lower/mid river. The river does stay in good shape in the canyon upstream of the kayak course. Pretty water up there, but I don't do as well (probably because I only go there when the river is blown down below and on the rise). King and coho fishing, as well as quality of fish, is better in the lower areas, in my opinion.

Thanks Guys. Just called a buddy fishing up there today and he said it's blown this morning. Weather report looks for continued rain. I hope it comes down a little to make things "fishable"...

Yes. Unofficially, the river downstream of the Vedder Crossing bridge is considered to be the Vedder. Upstream is the Chilliwack.

Just got an updated report from my buddy who just got off the river. River is very high and muddy, but fishable in spots. He hooked into 15 fish and landed one king that was 40lbs under the bridge near Fred's. Hope the water lowers a little bit tonight.
