Is the cowlitz muddy like the rest of the rivers in the state. Curious if it would fish this weekend. thank you for any help. I am thinking of fishing somewhere around blue creek.

The Cowlitz went up a little, but it' coming right down. It is very fishable! There should be some fresh new fish up at the Barrier dam with the raise in water. laugh

Good luck

There is a huge resevoir up river called Mayfield. I have only seen the Cowlitz over its banks twice in 15 years. When you see the water level getting around 12,000 cfs then its probably has 1-2 feet visibility. If your gonna fish around Blue Creek when its really rainy you need to be careful of the cliff. When it gets saturated it creates slides.

Ditto on the cliff warning. I was there one day and watched this huge tree come down must of been 100'. The day before people had been fishing right where the tree landed. Anyone fishing under that cliff wouldn't have had a chance.
