This was the picture that I was going to originally use! That was me in the bottom picture about 25 years ago. This thresher shark weighted over 550 pounds and was caught on rod and reel using 80 pound line. This was when I was commercially fishing for shark.

I hate to say this but, I believe the adipose fin on your fish is bigger that the entire fish in my avatar.

Actually it's one of Corey's faves to catch (and eat!)!

But we lke the saltwater variety ... perhaps I should have put this one up for Corey with lings in mind

Found an old pic of the son and I (He's 26 now). He is holding the small blackmouth that the Ling had grabbed on to and wouldn't let go of.....I netted them both and he spit out the salmon. Sorry for the poor quality of photo. At one time you could see the teeth marks on the salmon.

This is one of my favorite fish photos. No I did not take the picture!

I will have some pretty impressive peacock bass photos to share soon.

NIce lings! BTW, the freshwater burbot taste just about the same as the saltwater variety.
