All the posts about springer fishing and big banana plugs has got me going crazy. Too many commitments to make a CR trip happen just yet.

I had to get out today to wet a line, so here's the next best thing. Springer trout on wee-bitty banana plugs! I don't know who was more excited, me or the girls!

FNP, cute girls you have there, lots of fun too. Might not be as big as a springer, but just as fun for the kids.

It was nice of you to stop by the restaurant the other night, a pleasure to meet you in person.

With two boys and three girls in my family, I too have lots of kids pix to share, here are a few of them.

Guys -
thanks for sharing the pictures -

While we hard core fishers argue and discuss the pro and cons for various fishing methods and management options of the glamorous species we often loss sight of the important things - Those happy faces remind me what fishing should be - FUN! and about the future.

The kids and I got out on a coastal river last weekend. I tried my hardest to get them into some fish, only got two but the rewards are worth the cost when you get smiles like these.

All fish were release without harm, we could have kept them but why do that?

Hey guys,

Been trolling here for some time but never
really felt the need to speek out until now. I
too have a bunch of killer fish pics with my kids
that will be no more thanks to "Sparkey's Law" as you put it. Not looking to rank on Sparkey or any of the others on this board, and you know who you are, but to loose the oppurtunity of getting a "priceless" pic with me and my kid out the drift boat with a big nate is a shame. From now on, if I wan't a pic with the kid and a nate, I'll be forced to get the boat to a spot on the river where everyone can get out and beach the fish for a pic in a postion where the fish stays in the water. Going to be pretty tough with the young'ns.
As everyone knows who fish the OP, this is not always possible. The fact that should I really want that pic, I might be inclined to drift down to the next available beaching spot, further enducing stress to the fish by being played for a longer time...NOT saying this is what I will do, but I might, and so may the other 1,000+ dads looking for that "priceless" pic....Yeah, I know, first post by the newbee...just my 2 cents....

Welcome to the BB PileBuck! My opinion is in line with yours. A concept spawned with the best of intentions, but without a thorough thought process....not the first, nor the last, I'm sure.

I'd like to see a few more kid pics posted up, though, so put 'em up here.

Even though I dont have any kids of my own I try to take my sisters kids out a few times a year. My niece is about old enough to step up from Bluegill to something a little bigger, Kokanee! My Nephew is still too young to to know what he is doing. He caught his first fish last summer. It was a bluegill he caught on a "fishing pole" I made for him, A 4 foot long willow stick with some a hook and line tied to the end. I cant wait till he gets older so I can take him out in 'His" boat. ( he thinks my DB is his)

Here are a couple of pictures of my youngest boy Johnathan , I hooked the fish, set the drag light and gave the pole to my boy both times ...the little guy had a bit of trouble when the fish would take a fast run and I had to help him a bit to keep the pole from leaving his little hands but for the most part he did all the work ...... Afterwards he made sure that everyone on the bank and everyone that came down to fish knew that he caught that steelhead . ...If you look real close you can see that we are allowed to keep five natives per year total on a few of our rivers .........Baron Von Warner

What great pics of the kids! It's so much fun to take a kid fishing, they get almost as excited as I do! They are all such happy pictures, and I hope you'll have many more to share!
