We are planning a Halibut trip to the Swiftsure Bank out of Port Renfrew in mid-May. We have a guide lined up (Gallagher's Resort) but before we commit were wondering if anyone has some feedback on Gallagher's or suggestions for other guides in the area?

Is Swiftsure the best place to fish or should we also consider 10 mile bank?

Also, info on where to stay, eat, and do in the Port Renfrew area would also be helpful.

Thanks!

DF

A few years ago (last time I was out there), we did really well at Blue Dot.

On your way out to Port Renfrew I would like to recommend a stop in Sooke. The Museum is really worth some time.

The Castle Pub is worth a sleeve or two!

And the Jaeger Schnitzel at Mom's Restaruant is fantastic, eh.

Thanks, and we'll definitely try to make the Beer and Schnitzel in Sooke!
