I was on my way home today around 4 pm. I noticed some sheriff rigs and divers were in the water near HI 18. Saw a few drift boat trailers, hope everybody made it out ok.

Yeah, the sherrif's marine unit was training there yesterday. I had to wait about 30 minutes to take my boat out because they had base camp set up right in the take-out.

As far as I know they were practicing. I did see three brave gentleman floating down the river in inner tubes late yesterday afternoon. I hope they got off the water before it got dark.

GREEN (DUWAMISH) RIVER from the S 277th Bridge to Auburn-Black Diamond Road Bridge

Fishing from any floating device prohibited Nov. 1-Feb. 28.

From the Auburn-Black Diamond Road Bridge to the Tacoma Headworks Dam

No restriction.

So, yes, right now you can fish from a drift boat.
