After 3 straight unsuccessful trips to point defiance, (I'm mooching, and have caught so many dogfish, I'm going mad,) I'm thinking of trying somewhere new this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions closer to my home base of Seattle?

The paper seemed to indicate that southworth was worth checking out. How's the mooching been there? Where is the closest boat ramp to put in? Any advice would be appreciated, as I just want to boat a salmon!

I don't know how the fishing has been but access is simple. Either launch at Don Armeni and run across or launch right at Southworth. Just follow the Tremont exit west off hwy 16 and signs will lead you there.

The closest ramp is Armeni in West Seattle.

A lot of folks mooch in Manchester right in front of the fuel pier (when MA10 is open). I guess mooching a flood would probably be your best bet off Point Southworth. Other spots worth checking out are Allen Bank (MA10) or Dolphin Point.

The Dogs will be getting thicker! Might want to give a dart a go...

Yeah I know what you mean about dogfish, i probably have a good 100 under my belt (along with flounder). I would stay away from mooching herring personally that should keep ALOT of them doggies off, but not all. Do you have downriggers, I would try trolling or maybe a deep six. We used deep sixes at buoy 10 and outside and did great with them, but i haven't seen too many people use them in the sound, but it might be worth a try. just my .02
