I wonder if Roland could convince him NOT to wear a PFD and then we could all hope for a rogue wave?
Unfortunately that's about as likely as finding a WMD in a foreign country.

I personally would rather see Roland washed overboard. That guy is more than a little full of himself. And if I were his sponsor, I would coach him on the pronunciation of 'Kamagatsu'.....watch and see what I mean.....He gets paid to say it correctly. And don't get me started on that theme song.... it's like a parody of country music in itself. I'll be watching Larry Csonka 'North to Alaska'....

sounds like someone is fishing for votes, Does Dick Cheney get too come along, I'll tell you what Georgie I will hang back at the cabin with the twins and do a little fishing of my own, that is if they don't pass out during the second hand of strip poker, well at least Georke will be throwing a line at a species of the same brain caliber, it seems to me that a president running a counrty at war should look into getting a GI off the battle lines for a day and get him or her fishing, "Roland my intelligence has told me there is a huge stock pile of bass on the other side of town" George buddy that is where the sewer treatment plant is located." No in all seriousness I wish George a great fishing trip and most of all want to give the divers on the bottom a lot of credit for tugging on his line every now and then to give him a little excitement

I know GW can, but do you think John "Pierre" Kerry could handle a bait-caster? Do they even fish in France?

Do they even fish in France? Kerry at least knows where the trigger is on a .50 cal. as well as what bullets whizzing by your head sound like. He also knows what it means to go back and save someone's life, as opposed to being AWOL so you can build a political career. Kerry volunteered for the navy, volunteered for Vietnam, and volunteered for his duty. This while Bush was pulling strings to leap ahead of others to get into the National Guard so that he wouldn't have to serve. I don't care for either of them much, but dissing Kerry's military credentials is dishonest and dishonorable, as Senator John McCain, REPUBLICAN, said yesterday. If Bush was the man of honor that he claims to be, he would have the decency to respect Kerry's service as much as any other veteran's.

SH, actually a Bush spokesman went on record saying that Bush would not make Kerry's military record an issue.
This is all soft money talking. The same kind of soft money that has gone against Bush to the tune of 65 Million.

Do they even fish in France? Absolutely brilliant!! And without even a reference to Phil Donahue. How do you do it?

This is all soft money talking. The same kind of soft money that has gone against Bush to the tune of 65 Million. I'm not quite sure what your point is. I find it hard to believe that either party's soft money messages are not highly influenced by the candidates. I also find it hard to believe that the messages supported by the soft money spending could not be controlled by the candidates. If the Bushies are saying this, and GW doesn't approve, well, he could come out and say that he doesn't agree and doesn't approve. Until he does, it seems logical to believe that he does agree and does approve. They did this to McCain in 2000, as well as to Sen Max Cleland, a triple amputee veteran. They have a history of smearing good people. Bush is either the boss of his party, or not. If he's the boss, then he's responsible for these actions, and needs to disavow them if he finds them abhorrent. If he's not the boss, then I'd kinda like to know who he's the talking head for. Again, I'm no big fan of Kerry, though I do think his record indicates that he's a pretty upright guy. He doesn't try to make simple answers out of complex questions, which means the TV generation isn't going to like him very much. I would have liked a Kerry/McCain ticket, to try and heal some of the divisiveness we have in our country.

SH, I don't understand why you find it hard to believe that different people have different approaches to the same problem even though they all may want the same goal.
BTW, are you saying that all of the soft money on the other side is controlled by Kerry? If yes, that's an obvious violation of the campaign finance reform laws.
Nevertheless, the problem is that soft money exists. Soft money should be eliminated, so there is no deniability.

jim,
I can understand that. Part of my opinion is based on reports from the Wall Street Journal that said that Karl Rove is tightly bound in with the soft money campaigning, and indeed, is directing the messaging to a large extent. If the money is being controlled by 527 groups, you're right, they _should_ be independent. But the ads I've seen thus far all have the tagline, "I'm George Bush, and I approved this message." And again, there are multiple published reports I've seen in reputable sources that indicate that Karl Rove knows these folks' phone numbers by heart, just as I'm sure Terry McAuliffe knows the way to MoveOn's headquarters.
But more to the point, if President Bush agrees that it is dishonorable to misrepresent and degrade Senator Kerry's military record, it would be honorable for him to disavow those who are doing so, if they are acting without his approval. It unfortunately has been his past behavior to not do so, which is one of the things that causes me to have a lower regard for him.
