Fished from 6 am till 8 am before going to the office. Put 25lb in the boat. Sat in line to launch just about as much time as I fished. Worth it every time. Gonna hit the bubble tomorrow early and maybe possesion a little later. See if any silvers are hanging around.

Nice work guys. We picked up 2 at 19lbs each and lost a 3rd.
Was it just me or was new boat owners day? I almost got T-boned by a guy who didn't seem to think there was any problems with running so close to me. Then a long liner managed to hook not one but both of my downrigger cables from at least 100' away.

I've fished Elliot bay in the past and never had luck. Where are you guys finding these pigs? My wife just said she would go with me in the morning and I would like to get her into a big fish I'll probably go with what worked at Sekiu last time. Army truck hootchie behind a green hotspot. I don't know that I'll get the herring strip though. Any help would be appreciated!

I have been successful using a glow or blue aurora hoochy with a herring strip on the leading hook behind a green Hotspot or Silver Horde Splatterback dodger, trolling at 2.5 to 3.5mph. I have fished at 60 feet at first light then down to 120-150 by 8am to 9am. You know when you are in the bay and some guy zips past you at a clip alot faster than yours, well that may have been me. Go Get Em! As far as where I was fishing, doesn't the picture kind of give that away ?? Scott, get a picture of that 32 you can share?

I was skunked. Hate it when that happens. Checker counted 17 when I pulled out at 9:30.

Nice fish there Sky! Did your father happen to get into one of them pigs?? I noticed a knucklebuster on the downrigger.....I thought I was the only one who does that.....fun eh! I'll be out in the morning (a few hours from now) and hopefully we will get some rain to bring in some fresh biters. Only one way to find out. Good luck all!!

I gave Elliott Bay two hours, got no strikes and got so sick of all the numbnuts and beat it out of there for West Point. I actually got myself into a situation where one boat was trolling close on my starboard, two angling into the port and another running dirrectly across the bow. There's was absolutely no way I could turn out of there, until I yelled at one of the guys angling to my port and he turned out when he was about 10 feet away. Did see a several fat kings taken, but dusky looking river fish. Once the tide turned and started ebbing, we got two silvers at West Point 4 and 7 pounds. Had a 17-year-old kid with me from Hawaii, the nephew of a friend, who had never caught a salmon, and he brought in both and was ecstatic. Good day all in all, but I'll never fish EB again.

Thanks Smalma. The kid, Noah, was so happy he wouldn't let his Auntie stop at 7-11 to ice the fish down. Held them in a plastic sack on his lap all the way from Shilshole to his Auntie's place in West Seattle. He's flying back to Hawaii with them tomorrow.
