3 parts borax, 2 parts sugar, 1 part salt...Add your choice of color and you'll be a happy camper. You can buy a little bottle of commercial cure for 7 dollars, or spend 7 dollars on the ingredients for the above cure, and it will last you 5-times as long. Plus the eggs look so much more natural. Try it, it's money!

Ammermans isn't a bad cure but it defiantely shines for fall chinook. I like to have a bunch of cures for different situations. Steelies, you can't go wrong with borax surgar salt combo, samon depends what species and where. Also what method you are using.

Try it, it's money! Sounds like a cure I should try. Can you give us a run-down on how you use the cure? (ie: Add cure then refrigerate? Leave out in room temp?) Also, you mention adding color. What do you use for the coloring? (I could guess jello powder..but then... TIA! Mike

Does anyone know where FNP lives??? I am thinking about selling my busines so that I can stalk him on a full time bassis. On the days he goes to work I could do lawn jobs or pick up cig buts in parking lots to make enough money to send home some mac and cheese for my kids.... Doc if you ever need a camp cook let me know!!!
