I keep reading these posts about this place. What if I have to pass through there or end up there on business???? I'm in Oregon,so educate me.

If you ever find yourself driving through Enumclaw, you'll be ok as long as you don't ever stop, roll down your windows, lock your doors, and don't pick up strangers, hitchhikers, or livestock.

They've been known to setup road blocks to trap unwary visitors, especially those with out of state plates...be very careful around them parts.

Not that unusual. A while back a guy we know named Dave that owned a bar did not show up one day. His son in law went to his house and found him dead in bed. He called the cops and his ex-wife etc. The cops come in and look at him. " Yup.. he's dead alright, you didn't kill him did you ?? " The coraner showed up and looked at him and told them " well, you seem like nice folks so why don't you just wrap him in a blanket and take him to the funeral home, it'll save you 2,500 for the ambulance and its only a few blocks away" so they wrapped Dave up and put him in the passenger seat and off they went.

The ex-wife says " If I knew it was gonna be this easy I'd have done him myself years ago" Dave now is resting in a fancy box next to the T.V set at the bar. They put a fresh can of Coors up there every week, and its an honer to drink the old one they took down.

seastruck, I saw that on the news yesterday, and I wondered how long it would be until it showed up on this thread...I didn't have the heart to do it, but I'm glad someone did!

Downtown Enum is nice - I used to be down there for work 3-4 times a year and am pretty sure I'm none the worse for it.

Great little breakfast joint a couple blocks from the Police Station too KK. Don't know about the Possum, but their omlettes were outstanding.

It's only when you get outside town a bit that you start to hear the banjos playin.

They don't call them barns in Enumclaw. They call them brothels.

Speaking of eggs, the old saying "which came first the chicken or the egg"........well in Enumclaw the farmer came first. He could care less whether the chicken came.
