Skipped the fishing thing for the weekend, instead, hung out with friends Friday night-Sat morning, went to a good party Saturday, and had a successful return back to the slopes Sunday, and best of all, received some new non-stinky wader for my birthday, so I can now fish with some of you without offending you with my leftover Samish river sludge scent. Sol made it up and down the mountaing without mishap and indulged a little bit at a Saturday night Christmas party. Here's a few pics of the activities.

This is me, looking like crap, wondering if I should even go out another night to the party, all the while Blondebud was getting ready and prefunking with Sol, which his prefunk activities included sitting at the other computer posting on PP while consuming tequila, and snickering every time he made a new post, it was kinda funny to watch him get a kick out of himself. At least he can entertain himself while me and Blondebud got ready to go.

Yeah, looking a little rough.

Sol hard at work prefunking.

Okay, Blondebud is almost ready.

The hostess of the party, given us a little hottie look.

They've got legs.....giving us a Rockettes show to the music.

More pics from the party.

The karoke queen.

My buddy and his wife, doing a duet.

Yes, they do let ugly ass losers into the party.

He's happy, I think he just got mounted.

Who was the biggest flirt and perv there????????....

Not Sol or I, but this guy, my kids teacher's dad, he's ultimate flirt and has more one liners for the women than anyone I've ever known. He's the guy on the left.

Good times, good friends.

My good buddy's lovely wife.

Ahw, ain't they sweet.

More of the chics doing the singing thing, the voices may not be hot, but they are, fun times.

Blondebud, my own personal ski bunny looking down the slope.

Me and the kid.

Yesterday's gang on the slopes.

Sol on a board.

The kid, loving the boarding thing. He's pretty good.

This just looks funny, Sol and Blondebud on the lift together, slight size difference.

I just bought myself plan tickets to Vail Colorado for Christmas. My younger cousin, Ben, grew up there and he's a bigger jackass than I am if you can imagine that.

Do yourself a favor Sol and hit Loveland Pass on the way back to Denver (or on the way to Vail depending on your intinerary).
It's a great place, cheaper than Vail, more snow and usually empty.
Have a great trip!

It looks like their base sucks, too.

This trip is more about nightlife and partying with my cousin than snowboarding, and he's connected in Vail. My confidence it at an all time low after last seasons crash, although I was starting to get my groove back last night.

Vail is a fun town to party in. Hopefully they get some snow. CO does not get the bases we get. A 28in base there is actually ok.

What you are skiing or boarding on is a lot less slopes with stumps and rocks, check their slopes in the summer compared to ours, not the same, plus the snow is so much colder, dryer, lighter that it doesn't pack down like ours does.

Yup. One of my best friends lives in Denver and I've boarded out there a lot. He used to honestly beleive that we measured our bases differently.
Dave...."Baker has a 150 in base at the bottem dude. They got over a hundred feet this year."
Karl..."They must measure it differently out there man."
I laughed for months.

Nice post. You guys have a lot of fun.

It is nice to see people keeping themselves in shape and able to have fun and participate in sports and physical activities with their kids. It is one thing to send your kids off on the ski bus, but it is 10x better to go up on the slopes with them.

I agree. \:\)

Another couple of trips and I'll be back up to speed confidence and performance wise. First trip out of the gate was less than stellar. Here's a video similar to something I want to put together later this season, perhaps on a good powder day down one of the long intermediate cruiser runs on Stevens back side. \:\)

That was cool. It was way more interesting when he wasn't in the trees because the guy with the helmet cam had to pay more attention to what he was doing than the rider in front of him.

Do you have an "indo board"? I am getting one for x-mas I think. I have had a home-made version for a while. I think they really help with flexibility, and feeling comfortable in your crouch. They really helped me with my rail-grab positioning for skimming. I used to struggle with balance when I grabbed the rail on a turn, but after a couple months on my home made unit it came way more naturally.

I've noticed that all the best riders in every board sport are super-flexible, almost gumby-like and can balance in almost any position.

No, I don't have one and don't plan on getting one. My board budget is shot. I now own four, and the Burton I just bought is finally perfect for me. In snowboarding I've learned getting the length and binding positions and stance location matched for your individual preferance is critical, and no one can tell you what's right for you, you have to learn and disover it on your own.

And yeah, I agree on the flexibility comment. You will not see a grossly overweight person on a snowboard.
