Oh yeah, the thing that surprised me the most was that EVERY cell had cable TV. You have to ride on a ferry to get on the island and the wives & girlfriends would bring all kinds of crap. Once I saw a bucket of KFC.
They had conjical visits too.

I toured San Quentin Prison in California when I was younger and studying in college. There were a couple things that struck me, The main yard was a bit freaky. It was fully occupied I would say 1000 men a roar of converstaion as we walked our tour was a group of 8 with 8 escort officers so 16 all together, could have heard a pin drop in 30 seconds and a thousand staring faces. What struck we most was the impression I had was these guys belonged there. They were all hanging in their gangs and not a one of them were the type of person you would expect to meet on the street any street. Another thing that I found unusual was the cells they had custom casework in the cellls Im not jokingut the prisoners must have made it in the wood shop, fine cherry, some oak nice stuff, built in tv units, I saw a couple shrines. I think it was not as tough as you think if you keep your head down and did not mess with the prison program. I think the thing you would fear most is the other inmates... I don't know any answers I just thought it an interesting article, and from what I read about Sheriff Joe the conditions he provided gave me the impression if they participated they would learn job skills and the whole tent thing would be a deterrent anyway not intended to be a debate, just wondering if anyone else had heard of this guy

Club Fed is WAAAAY different than State Pens. The Feds don't tolerate ANY of the bullsh*t that goes on in State Prisons. An old friend of mine got to stay in one for awhile. He was a neat-freak when he got out.

I've done projects at McNeil, Walla Walla, Purdy & Monroe. They are all pretty similar when it comes to living conditions.

Prison's are filled with "Jailhouse Lawyers" They clog the system with lawsuits. Remember, IT COSTS THEM NOTHING!!!!!
I guess it boils down to what is considered inhumane.

Do you have a roof over your head? Yes.
Do you get 3 meals a day? Yes
Do you have showers and toilets to use? Yes.
Are you physical;ly abused by the guards. No.

You and I all have to work for our food & shelter.

Boo Hoo, I have to wear pink shorts, Boo Hoo I have to be chained up and work. Boo Hoo I can't smoke. Boo Hoo, I have no porn. To that I say, TOUGH SHIAT !!!!!

If you don't like the conditions, THEN DON'T COME THE HELL BACK !!!!

Prison is for punishment, nothing more. We ought to farm all prisoners to mexico. See how they like that!!!

Well, actually they are SUPPOSED to reduce recidivism and protect the general public from criminals as well...

Thank you for that clarification , not sure what I was thinking.

I sure wouldn't want to speak my mind if someone disagreed with me

But really if you must know. I have read a ton of posts on here dating way back, and I don't know aunty personally but from what i have read she is very smart, very funny, and very helpful with what people are doing to help our fisheries. Oh and I even saw a picture of her all dolled up. Her husband is a lucky man.

But I could care less of what she thought of me, but calling people "slow" is basically calling them stupid. I just thought it was bad form. So if you don't like that then just run me off like you do people you don't like or don't agree with.

LMAO
dude i say stupid crap all the time and this is the INTERNET so i catch my fair share of crap back
if you want to survive which you do otherwise you wouldn't have spent the effort to register, you need to buck up and get the thicker skin on
aunty insults me regularly and it don't bug me much as i'm not always correct nor is she
one of the things we do agree on is the erosion of our civil and natural rights by the left/right/whomever and we tend to rag about that
bottom line, if you get run off?, run off from political topics on a fishing forum?, then maybe it was the wrong place to be posting in the first place
so buck it up and come on back with whats on YOUR mind

This here interweb is just an exchange of 1's and 0's... If "we" do not like or agree with people "they" are free to "run-off" if they wish. There is nothing "we" can do to force them away. If "they" are ashamed of their own ideas, they are free to keep them to "themselves" or post them elsewhere. If someone gets "banned", well that's something else... unless you are implying that the mods are conspiring with "us"?

The best one I have read lately was her knowledge of the "balls" required to crab on the Pacific Ocean off Washington...her experience would be hard to match.

I think she said it was cool to buy dead wild critters from one guy, but bad to buy dead wild critters from some other guy...pretty much a "Think globally, Act locally" point of view................................or not.

Does a private citizen have more right to catch a fish in a river than he has to cut down a tree in the forest ?

C'mon AuntyM, tell me all those carpenters are evil for building my house the same way those commercial fishermen are evil for catching my fish.

Aunty is well read and articulate. Her and I have butted heads on another site on occasion.
I respect her opinions, up until the name calling starts.
