Another link in an Ottawa paper as well this morning. Sexy's salary is killing any trade value ... I hope they don't give him the whole year to come around though. If he can't be avg. anyhow, get some platooning going on at first or something. Bite the bullet and lick your salary wounds for an expensive bench warmer.

Sexson is #10 in highest salaries. He's not even one of the top 10 players on his own team....

His OBP is terrible cause he strikes out....Beltre hasn't exactly provided the offensive punch we expected when we took from the Dodgers a few years ago...but he has gotten a handful of defensive awards...

Exactly why we're still stuck with him ... I think it's even more this year.

I'd personally rather give up a couple more prospects or one other "player" rather than give up Sherill in this deal. Hard to find a set-up man as successful as him. WE need Bedard, I'm excited about it, but it doesn't do any good for him to leave the game in the 7th or 8th 1 or 2 runs ahead only to have the bullpen blow it. Hopefully we can find someone to have at least 80 percent of the success that Sheril had. Nice to see the effort in pitching improvement though.

Yep, done deal The more I think about it, the more I like it, especially is we can ink him to a long-term deal. And through another trade or FA, it's way easier to find a decent RF than what shoul dbe a stud LH TOR pitcher.

Wilkerson will just be a fill-in in that slot ... we'll see from there

I understand the need for pitchers (Weaver wasn't exactly the producer we expected)
..........but Adam Jones had some real potential. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a stud and we look back at the deal and kick ourselves for dumping him off to the Orioles...

Bedard better be good...Seem's like the past few big names we've signed haven't exactly put up the numbers we expected. Beltre, Weaver, Sexson, heck even Cirillo seemed to be a big deal...All of which have been disappointments...

i never really thought much of jones....he seems like he will be good, but no allstar

I never thought too much about him either, but scouts thought he was the real deal and he was supposed to be our Right Fielder. Hopefully this trade comes good when we look back at it in 5 years..

I will miss Sherrill more than Jones, but IMHO, it was a good trade. Possibly one of the best they've done in a while.
