There are two types of motorcyle drivers....Those that have crashed and those who haven't...The drivers who have crashed usually aren't the ones weaving thru lanes on 405 doing 80...
you must be an expert or something In case you couldn't put it together, I'll say it again. The ones who are driving on their back wheel haven't laid the bike down yet or gotten in a crash...The responsible drivers aren't doing any of that fancy s**t or tailgaiting you... Do you ride?? You cannot gain the skills needed to "stunt" around like that without having crashed. Certainly, you are correct about the "responsible driver" part of your statement; however, it's a bit naive to think that those who stunt or weave or whatever have not crashed...

i had to stop abruptly on the Highway...some jack!@s stopped right in front of me (in my Fedex truck) to do one of those uturns only made for the Emg vechs...only when he started to do the turn he realized there was a steep drop and just stopped...saw that i was slamming on the brakes and coming fast so he did the turn...i stopped in time, but there was a guy on a motorcyle behind me...he started the skid and could not stop in time...he ran into the back of my truck...he was by all means following me too close and recived a ticket for that...the thing was, i watched it happen...i have a camera in the back of my truck to show the five feet or so behind me...i could not belive what i saw...i thought the guy was going to be very hurt...his bike was shot, but his leg actually hit the only rubber bumper part on the whole back end of my truck...if he would have hit metal, he would have had some broken bones for sure...he was a tuff harley guy for sure...he walked away lucky...all i kept saying was i cant belive you are ok...i know he would be sore for at least a week or more from that, but that was enough...whew...c

I used to be one of those crazy mo-fos , wheelieing for miles. Can you say S T U P I D!!! I went skipping across the pavement doing about 70MPH back in 83. I was fine until I looked at my knee. Hey what's that white thing? Oh, that's my knee cap and a good case of road rach in various places, Then the pain hits. Want to know how they get all the dirt and rocks out of road rash? They scrub, and scrub with a brush. Feels lke getting branded and having acid poured on it to cool it off. Spent 2 weeks laid up, until I could walk around. Smartes decision was selling my bike!!!! Too many dogs and cars to deal with.

after visiting various friends over the years in the hospital i don't care to own one or ride one, with money spent on buying a bike i could buy a cheap fishing truck, a really nice pontoon, and a trailer for it

"No, no, no, wait a second please. This is a great photo op and a medic in the picture will completely ruin it." Why would somebody be standing around taking pictures of the dude, but nobody is helping him???...Later

Aunty! It's just a sad commentary on our society that violent head is okay, but sex head is not!

Having been on the wrong end of a truck vs motorcycle accident when I was a youth I can feel it through out my body whenever I see something like that. At least is was quick.

Arrogant little prick got what he deserved. If he was doing bike tricks in his back yard and wasn't putting anyone else's life at risk, well then he would only be stupid. If he was on a race track where everyone understood the inherent risk, and gave consent, and he died, it would be a tragedy. I maintain he got what he was asking for. It's people who are careless with the lives of other people, who cause the deaths of complete strangers, who interject their pathetic lives by making new widows and orphans through their pseudomacho [censored], for them death is just reward.

Actually the thread was about wearing your helmet. It said the guy lived in the email I got. The first people at the scene didnt have to be paramedics. The pics could have been taken by witnesses at the scene. Oh well chalk it up to another urban ledgend.-T

What would be cool, is a website with nothing but pictures of riders who are smiling, and showing off their cracked, crushed, impacted helmets. Every once in a rare while I get to see a helmet, and the melon it saved. Some of those helmets are fucked up. It doesn't take 120 mph wreck to crack your head, 15 mph impact with a curb with break open your unprotected skull.
Responsible riders who wear their helmets, and leathers, definitely save themselves a lot of pain. Today would be a great day to ride.
What the hell am I doing inside?

The guy died. Snopes LinkEver since college I've wanted a motorcycle. Every time I've thought about buying one, someone I know either has a motorcycle accident or tells me stories of motorcycle crashes until my two-wheel fervor dies. People who work emergency rooms or neurology departments in hospitals have the ugliest stories.
