So who is following the tourney? Any of you involved in any pools? They have cracked down on our office pools so you have to do them away from work. A large group of guys from work just go down to Vegas every year drink, bet on the games, and do other gambling.
I've seen some great first round games. The second round starts today. I'd like to see the Cougs beat the Leprechauns. It should be a good game.

It has been a great tournament so far. My bracket, is pretty well hashed by all the upsets, but so is most everyone else's. The games have been really fun to watch as usual.
My office does a pool $5 per head, and then the company matches the pot. Last year the secretary won it, the year before the artistic guy who thinks hackey sack is a sport won it. Neither of them knew anything about the teams, or the tournament.

Dude, Hacky is not a sport? Out of all sporting events NCAA Tourney IMHO is the best. The Pac-10 is holding it's own. 3 teams to sweet 16.

I have the Gayhawks too. We have a K-State guy in our office, and we have learned that is their nickname.
RR - Cougs look solid. This year it seems like the defensive teams UCLA, WSU, UNC etc. are holding a distinct advantage. The 3-point shooting teams are struggling Duke, Oregon etc.

My favorite time of year...... WSU played great.....really looking forward to the WSU/UNC game. Unlike most people, I think the Heels are certainly beatable, and I can't think of a better team to give them a run for their money. Duke went into Chapel Hill and kicked their ass earlier in the year and the Dukies aren't that good. The only thing that worries me is the travel.....UNC took a bus to the opening round games and will do the same to Charlotte. They are well rested.... Watching Stephen Curry from Davidson light up the Zags and Georgetown is the highlight of the tourney so far....what a stud. As long as you didn't have Georgetown and Duke in the Final Four your bracket still look okay. Ike

Curry has been so fun to watch.
Yeah the WSU - UNC matchup is a big one, I can't wait.. WSU plays really good team defense, but I have a feeling that foul trouble is going to be an issue. I watched the Duke - UNC game where Duke won, and they could not miss a 3 pointer. It will take a big game out of Lowe and Weaver to get through UNC. Phsycho T is going to cause problems, Baynes hasn't seen that kind of speed and aggressiveness down low yet this year. I still wouldn't bet against the cougs.

If we play like we did vs Notre Dame we should beat UNC Notre Dame is NO WHERE NEAR UNC....Your gonna have to play like you beat ND and then some more. I'm all for seeing upsets, but a team that's averaging 100+ in the first two games? cougs better score A LOT if they want a chance....

Tarheels will thump them Coug's Would that be similar to the thumpin the cougs gave the dogs???????????? My bracket is goin' good. I have the most available points left in our pool. I "coug" my bracket if the the cougs "coug" the game. I win the whole shebang when NC loses.

I agree they are good but look who they played number 16 Mount Saint Marys and number 9 Arkansas. We need to play good offense but the D will be the key. Notre Dame had one of the best offenses in the tourney averaging over 80 points per game, the cougs held them to 41.

They didn't get a number one seed for nothing. Thats why they got two games to lay into opponents and completely destroy them...Cuz they are the #1 team in the land...

Arkansas didn't play defense. While NC is more athletic, they are also full of underclassmen. Marvin Williams would've of been a senior this year and Brandon Wright went NBA last year. I don't think NC is any better than UCLA or Stanford. It's the second ranked offense versus the second ranked defense. I think it comes down to if the refs are going to let them play. Are they going to let Hansbrough get all the calls like the Lopez twins?

They are not the number one team in the land, the BCS thinks they are the top team compared to other teams in their league. You cant assume that all leagues are as good or comparable to the pac 10. What? Do yourself a favor and check the AP Top 25 and ESPN/USA today polls.. BCS? We talking basketball man... I'm not assuming anything about all leagues being as good or comparable to the PAC 10. I rarely think they are a good basketball conference....

Are they going to let Hansbrough get all the calls like the Lopez twins? It comes down the Cougs being able to make shots. No way they can keep that offense under 70 points. They needa score a lot, and hit their threes which they haven't been able to do so far in the tourney. They need to be stroking it from beyond the arc to have a shot.

I can still win the pool even though I had WSU picked for the national champs. Kansas is my favorite team right now. Go jayhawks.

I think the semifinal brackets are North Carolina vs Kansas and UCLA vs Memphis. I gotta to go with the Pac 10 team.

Of the 4 teams , I think that UCLA has gotten some sweet calls, and the most breaks from officials. However, I don't think they will win it all, but with John Wooden ailing, and his condition reported frequently in the media, it makes me wonder if there actually are angels in strip shirts, keeping watch over his Bruins. You must admit, it makes good copy. John Wooden was the best of the best. I hear it all the time, from his former players. Got to hang out a bit with Luscious Allen, and Walt Hazard, last summer, and they would often mention their fond memories of Wooden, and his legency. All of his players loved him and still do. However, good copy or not, the final 4 is sacred, and must not be tainted with such controversy, or the fans will be all over it for years to come. I hope that we get to see 3 quality, and competitive games in the final 4. The Davidson-Kansas thriller, is what March Madness is all about. "The Road To The Final Four," is by far, the best sporting event in America. Keep an eye on Memphis, and Kansas. Both are peeking at the right time, and one will go all the way.

[ Keep an eye on Memphis, and Kansas. Both are peeking at the right time, and one will go all the way. ] Looks like I nailed todays games. I'll think about it over the weekend, and should have the winner picked by Monday morning. Both team's have a lot of beef under the boards. Should be a battle to say the least.

Memphis had that game, but threw it away on lousy shots. Some really poor shooting, they hosed themselves.

Nicely done KU! I only caught the last 2 minutes of regulation + OT, but I will be doing my grinning at the office tomorrow. Took the top spot in our little "calcutta" style pool..
But boy, what a tragic ending if you were rooting for Memphis. How many free throws did they miss?
