I gave up on pep rallies when I graduated from high school so I haven't watched any of either convention. If I wanted a hand job, I'd do it myself.

She never stuttered , that was refreshing. McCain, however will struggle with the teleprompter tonight and have a real tough time if he expects to out perform Palin's delivery.

As far as Palin is concerned, my thoughts go something like this.

She is a long time Alaskan and she is a hunter.




She knows and understands issues affecting hunters, both natural and legislative.
Her parents are serious hunters as well.




She has been raised in a family that understands and loves the outdoors and holds hunting as a very important part of their lives.
Lefties want to paint Palin as someone who wants to rape and pillage the environment .

Contrast that with two slick urban politicians that don't know jack shitt about hunting, fishing & the outdoors and the issues that affect us sportsmen.
These guy's feet never leave the asphalt.
I feel that they could really care less about anything that has to do with hunting other than it is something that some of their constituants and financial contributors want them to do away with.

Her ties to commercial fishing may be troublesome for some of you, Is she responsible in her views on ocean harvest or does she just want to ravage the sea?
I have not heard what her commercial fishing policies are.
I disagree with her religous beliefs.
However you cannot deny that Palin is much more in touch with wildlife issues than either Obama or Biden.

And neither one of them is remotely qualified to do anything more than hunt and fish.

How this makes Palin a better candidate is beyond me. She's a f'n gillnet lover. Bycatching gillnet lover. Catch all the fish your state is trying to protect down here gillnet lover.

Well, I don't know it there is anyone on the ballot that is "ready" to run this country. And I don't think anyone is popular enough to do the things that this country needs to have done to make things right.

Always refreshing to see people expounding their epertise about a person who they've only known about for a week. Bash the hell of a person who you know nothing about. Pretty much just sounds like fear of the unknown.

I loved her speach. Many will say there was no substance which may be true but this was her first time on that stage. She needed to bring the house down and she did.

As far as the issues that need to be addressed like the economy, jobs, etc. We have 2 more months for all the debates and we'll get to see what they have to offer. I'll wait until I know more before making any judgements. I'm not going to spout off as if I know it all based on one week's worth of media bashing and one speach trying to defuse some of that.

It's just always better when you can sling it at the other side. I'm no R so don't get me wrong. Just saying the resident experts on here seem to know it all. Makes the average person a bit nauseaus sometimes though..

I can't vote for McCain because of these last 8 years and I won't vote for Obama because of his stand on many issues. But, she was pretty refreshing to listen to and I'll still hold judgement until a later date. I don't need the smartest person on earth in the white house. Just someone smart enough to fill the cabinet with the right advisors.
