Anyone else catch the Palin interview? I was actually pretty impressed with the questions Gibson asked. I figured they'd be all softballs, but he asked some pretty decent ones, focusing on foreign policy. As expected she couldn't give coherent answers. No wonder they kept her sequestered away.

I finshed grooming my ditch, and did a little work on the backhoe. Saturday I'll work on back-filling the foundation for the shop!

I think at this point we need to confront the fact that we don't know yet which is more uncomfortable: watching Sarah Palin try to demonstrate her qualifications to be president or watching John McCain try to describe them. KK and you can sit there with a straight face and tell me you don't get uncomfortable at BO stuttering and stammering his way through meaningless replies to watered down questions from gutless interviewers? The only one who came close to challenging him so far has been O'reilly. He even gave him a pass. And I thought you were on top of it!

Stephen Hawking is brilliant.
Don't overuse the word, or you lose the meaning.
It's like 'hero'.
Heroes charge machine-gun nests. Heroes throw themselves on grenades to save their buddies. Heroes run into burning buildings to save people.
When people are called 'hero' for lesser things, it devalues those whose actions are truly heroic.

Dood, she's as brilliant as a brillo pad. She still doesn't know what Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac are, or what they do, she doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine is, but she supports it fully, and her grasp of foriegn policy is embarrasing just to listen to, much less to say.

What it sums up well is the usual...at least half of her supporters, perhaps more on this BB, can't in any way, shape, or form have an actual conversation about it.
Nookie, you have the same response to every single thing...to talk about Obama. That's what happens when one of two things happen...you don't konw what you're talking about, or your candidate doesn't...in this case, I think it's the double whammy...
Both apply.
Hank, I was actually surprised that Gibson asked a few tough questions...he's usually a softball lobber, and that's why he got tapped to do the interview. She did deflect the fundamentalist Christian dingbat questions OK, but she did by either skipping the answer altogether, or speaking in direct conflict with the tapes of her telling her congregation at her church that the war in Iraq was a "task from God"...
After hearing the tape, she wavered back and forth, ignored the question repeatedly, and Gibson stuck to it...until she said she doesn't know the will of God and that the war is not really a "task from God", which were the exact words she used at the church...exact words.
I like her point that she has foreign policy experience because you can see islands that are Russian territory from some points in Alaska.
That's compelling.
I can see Vancouver Island from half the places I fish in the salt in Puget Sound...hell, I even fish in Canada a few times per year...that makes me even more qualified than her.
I think you're right about the VP debates...if she doesn't figure out what she's actually talking about, she's going to get her ass whipped by Biden...just spewing out the talking points she memorized won't get it done there.
Fish on...
Todd

Woah Sarah, before you speak, look into your mind and make sure that is what "they" want you to say!
More scripted and rehearsed lines... Typical.....backed to the gills by the deep seated corporate war profiteers... both she and McCain should be nowhere near weapons and power.
The McCain campaign exhibits the very epitome of very the LAST THING WE NEED IN WASHINGTON! The insular McCain is showing signs of loosing his acuity. Watching him speak, it seems as though he himself believes the lies both he and his celebrity VP have been scripted to say. These two are clearly puppets of a much larger force that cannot relinquish the root of their only source of power and financial bearing..... and THANKFULLY for the security of the American people, that is becoming increasingly evident day by day.

Palin also talked about the need to reduce greenhouse emissions to prevent man caused global climate change...dovetailing with McCain's own opinions about that. Unfortunately for her, people can actually look up her record...and here it is... (Political Animal) PALIN'S GLOBAL-WARMING SKEPTICISM.... Since Sarah Palin was added to the Republican ticket, there have been multiple reports about her skepticism regarding the science behind global warming. Last night, during her ABC interview, Palin was pressed on her beliefs, and got a little defensive. "Show me where I have ever said that there's absolute proof that nothing that man has ever conducted or engaged in has had any effect or no effect on climate change. I have not said that," Palin told Charlie Gibson. Well, what has she said? The AP takes a closer look, and concludes Palin's remarks to ABC are "at odds with her previous statements." [I]n the past Palin has said she does not believe global warming is caused by human activity. She has told the Internet news site Newsmax, "A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location.... I'm not one, though, who would attribute it to being man-made."In an interview with a Fairbanks newspaper within the last year, Palin said: "I'm not an Al Gore, doom-and-gloom environmentalist blaming the changes in our climate on human activity." ABC cited the interview as being at odds with her statement. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/12/politics/animal/main4443795.shtmlI can appreciate Palin being embarrassed about her beliefs now; she's obviously well outside the scientific mainstream. If I were her, in my first national television interview, I'd be tempted to distance myself from right-wing talking points, too. But Palin's record is Palin's record, and the fact remains that she's so far out there, she's rejected the connection between global warming and human activity. Indeed, she's done so more than once. This not only tells us something important about Palin's understanding of public policy, it also tells us a great deal about how she perceives and considers evidence that runs counter to her ideology. ************* http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08/palin-global-wa.html“A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made,” Palin said in the interview, which was posted online Friday. *********** Now, of course, in order to be "in line" with McCain, she's towing the line and admitting that it is indeed human caused, and that it needs to be rectified. Just further evidence that she has no actual convictions, just wind in the willows poll-based talking points. Also...back to her excellent foreign policy experience...she got her first passport two years ago, and can see a Russian island from the farthest western point of Alaska. That's it. When asked if she had ever met a head of state, she said no, and said that most VP's would answer the same...except she's wrong. Every living VP has met with at least one head of state before becoming VP...and no VP in the past 32 years can say that they haven't. Unlike the other ten or twelve things she just flat out lies about, I believe she just as no clue on this one... Fish on... Todd

Cool. My 5 year old daughter got her first passport when she was 9 months and has set foot in German, Amsterdam, and Mexico. My 3 year old boy got his first passport at the ripe age of 11 months and has only set foot in Mexico. I'd say my two children are probably as qualified, if not more qualified in the foreign policy experience division than the VPILF. PS. I've been to Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and own and a display a Quoran in my house. I think that makes me a muslim terrorist and probably disqualifies me for my foreign policy experience. At least that is what I told those damned Jahova-Witnesses that started talking to me out in the front yard as I was doing some yard work. I invited them in to read the Quoran with me and to join "the jihaad". The looks on their faces was priceless...yet declined to come in the house with me for some reason.

Mf, I think you may have been watching a different interview than the rest of the world...
Read the news...she's been described as "defensive", "not confident", "bumbling", "unresponsive", and "contradictory"...and that barely scratches the surface.
I think that Biden is just biding his time...in the VP debate I think he'll come out swinging and point out how she has flip-flopped on virtually everything that she is now supporting, along with McSame, and that her lack of understanding of some very fundamental tenets of foreign policy and economics will really shine when she doesn't have talking points written out for her by the Bush team to read off of a teleprompter...last night she showed that she has yet another thing in common with Bush...that she can read a teleprompter fine, but can't put together a common sense sentence when forced to do it off the top of her head...she's gonna get demolished.
Fish on...

Has anyone else noticed that whenever Mcain and Palin show up in public together that mcain stands behind Palin and lets her do all the talking. Is this because he is becoming senile and just a terrible public speaker? I realize that she has been the only bright spot since his campaign started dying but she's not the one running for president. I cant wait for the debates. -TBJ

I can't believe obama actaully thinks he is gonna talk his way into office. Get used to it. He's gonna be the next President. I have faith that our country is not retarded enough to actually want to suffer through 4 more years of crap at the hands of a republican President. I just gotta laugh and shake my head sometimes... Right-wingers LOVE to dismiss polling data... unless of course it shows that their candidate is leading... then it's indisputable! Kevin - I don't know how long you've been following the political process here in the good ol' U S of A... but I just gotta ask: What exactly ARE the candidates supposed to think? If they don't think they're gonna get elected... WHY do you figure they go through the pain and sufferin' of running in the first place?

Gotta love these Dems! They are in extreme panic mode. Quick make some $hit up about Sarah. The lefties believe anything! I mean look at the candidates they put up against Bush!
So keep it coming libs. Sarah is gaining every time one of the village idiots open their mouth.
Biden is biding his time? he's sitting in a corner chewing on his blankie trying to figure a way out of the mess he got himself into.
Now the great plan is when MCain wins, Bush and Cheney resign 10 days before McCain takes office. Nancy Peelosi takes over and has to give up her seat in Congress. 10 days later we are rid of her for good.
Hey Kevin, I knew you were a good man all along!

. Quick make some $hit up about Sarah. FactCheck.org has taken issue with the McCain-Palin ad that claims FactCheck has called Obama's attacks on Palin "false and misleading". In fact, Factcheck says that they did not attribute any of the false claims to the Obama camp. "We have yet to dispute any claim from the Obama campaign about Palin", a statement on the web site reads. The ad in question is the one with the wolves that claims that Obama sent in researchers to "get dirt" on Palin. The ad falsely attributes this claim to the Wall Street Journal. It would appear the only one making sh1t up is you................... But that's not too unexpected, being a Republican and all, you're predisposed to lying. Well it looks like todds' girlfriend will stand in for him and continue shouting from the mountain tops in his absence........you go girls. We do understand your need for vociferous protestaions considering the lack of substance the dems have fielded...hence the venom spewed from their cock hole is a necesarry pathway to their enlightenment or so they think.....but I do enjoy their desperation. ..............so laffin......

Wonder if John Edwards was given this kind of attention. He was a one term senator.
Wonder if Geraldine Ferraro was given this kind of attention. She was a three term representative from NY
Joe Biden the original thinker? Wrong on foreign affairs and a plagiarist. Like Al Gore, hes on the cheap side. Donated less than 1% of his income.
What if Joe Biden suddenly dies in office? What would the pez dispenser do?
Probably wont have to worry about that.
Washington is in play. 2 POINTS Down from 12
The only way this could get anymore insulting is to run Condolezza Rice.
Imagine all the oreo cookie jokes. Contempt for anyone not on the plantation. Meanwhile McCain goes on the "view" and Obama wont meet McCain in a town hall. Obama, American coward. In illinois, he ran unapposed after everyone else was disqualified or pulled out, Like Ryan, whos private divorce records were opened up and given a complete public airing.
Its called the Bush Doctrine, cause the Clintons and the democrats dont have the balls to stand up and fight when its necessary. They cant even muster the courage to redirect part of the funding for the bridge to nowhere and send it to Katrina victims. They voted for Alaska to keep the money. You do for me, as you do for the least of our brothers, except the half brother in the african hut, living on 12 dollars a year.
By the way, all the dimwits on KVI raised 65,000 dollars for postage for gift to servicemen in Iraq and Afganistan. During two three hour shows.
In only Bernie Ward, note liberal radio hack been around to raise money for the postage, but hes on his way to jail for seven years for child pornography. How the mighty fall.

God I just love it when the people who invented the lie, come back with "OH Yeah!" Once again the elite jackass rears it's ugly head! No wonder the National Enquirer is the favorite newspaper of left wing communists (oops I meant columnists).

You don't get it Jacka$$7, there are no lies coming from Obama's campaign.
Try as you might with your minimal mental abilites, you've never come close to posting anything that resembles a fact.
Do you blame your parents, or public schools ?
Elitist.................is that term you use for anyone with better than a 6th grade education ? Anyone one whose parents weren't related other than by marriage ?
You have the last one right. "I don't know what to say" When asked by O'reilly if he ever heard his minister use anti U.S. sentiment statements. Maybe he was telling the truth. Maybe he realy didn't know what to say. Tell ya what Kid. I heard plenty of suspects use that phrase when being questioned. It's a favorite response. So you made it past the 7th grade? Is that what you are trying to say? Minimal mental abilities trumps none at all!

No.............. What I'm saying is I doubt if you did. Now go 'rough up the suspect' if your sister isn't around................ What you're saying is you don't know jack. Never had to rough em up. Most of them weren't that smart. Kind of like you. Real quick but shallow. How many years did it take you to get out elementary school, still there?

There's plenty of bias...just not of the made up type that the loud dipshits on talk radio (and their audience who listens with baded breath) would have you believe.
If you want to see bias, see how the media is giving Palin a pass on actually questioning her utter lack of convictions, consistency, and experience...they spend more time talking about her hairdo.
Fish on...

Todd Read the F'in transcript....keeerist why is it so hard for a LWBL (left wing bawl licker) to grasp what is in front of their face? I find the LWBL's claim regarding her "lack of experience" not only pathetically funny but an interesting insight into their lack of intelligence and political acumen...... Palin not only has more experience than Obama but she has run something other than her mouth (the state of Alaska) which is certainly more than Obammy has ever done. But I guess experience matters more for the #2 than it does for the #1...at least if you're a LWBL.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/13/opinion/13sat1.html?ei=5070&emc=eta1Gov. Palin’s Worldview Published: September 12, 2008 As we watched Sarah Palin on TV the last couple of days, we kept wondering what on earth John McCain was thinking. If he seriously thought this first-term governor — with less than two years in office — was qualified to be president, if necessary, at such a dangerous time, it raises profound questions about his judgment. If the choice was, as we suspect, a tactical move, then it was shockingly irresponsible. It was bad enough that Ms. Palin’s performance in the first televised interviews she has done since she joined the Republican ticket was so visibly scripted and lacking in awareness. What made it so much worse is the strategy for which the Republicans have made Ms. Palin the frontwoman: win the White House not on ideas, but by denigrating experience, judgment and qualifications. The idea that Americans want leaders who have none of those things — who are so blindly certain of what Ms. Palin calls “the mission” that they won’t even pause for reflection — shows a contempt for voters and raises frightening questions about how Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin plan to run this country. One of the many bizarre moments in the questioning by ABC News’s Charles Gibson was when Ms. Palin, the governor of Alaska, excused her lack of international experience by sneering that Americans don’t want “somebody’s big fat résumé maybe that shows decades and decades in that Washington establishment where, yes, they’ve had opportunities to meet heads of state.” We know we were all supposed to think of Joe Biden. But it sure sounded like a good description of Mr. McCain. Those decades of experience earned the Arizona senator the admiration of people in both parties. They are why he was our preferred candidate in the Republican primaries. The interviews made clear why Americans should worry about Ms. Palin’s thin résumé and lack of experience. Consider her befuddlement when Mr. Gibson referred to President Bush’s “doctrine” and her remark about having insight into Russia because she can see it from her state. But that is not what troubled us most about her remarks — and, remember, if they were scripted, that just means that they reflect Mr. McCain’s views all the more closely. Rather, it was the sense that thoughtfulness, knowledge and experience are handicaps for a president in a world populated by Al Qaeda terrorists, a rising China, epidemics of AIDS, poverty and fratricidal war in the developing world and deep economic distress at home. Ms. Palin talked repeatedly about never blinking. When Mr. McCain asked her to run for vice president? “You have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission,” she said, that “you can’t blink.” Fighting terrorism? “We must do whatever it takes, and we must not blink, Charlie, in making those tough decisions of where we go and even who we target.” Her answers about why she had told her church that President Bush’s failed policy in Iraq was “God’s plan” did nothing to dispel our concerns about her confusion between faith and policy. Her claim that she was quoting a completely unrelated comment by Lincoln was absurd. This nation has suffered through eight years of an ill-prepared and unblinkingly obstinate president. One who didn’t pause to think before he started a disastrous war of choice in Iraq. One who blithely looked the other way as the Taliban and Al Qaeda regrouped in Afghanistan. One who obstinately cut taxes and undercut all efforts at regulation, unleashing today’s profound economic crisis. In a dangerous world, Americans need a president who knows that real strength requires serious thought and preparation.

McCain is a liar? Isnt he a politiician? Obama hasnt lied about McCain. Then they are stupid. They should have known Palin was a governor, yet almost immediately, lied about her. Ed Rendell said on the air, Fox was the most fair with the coverage of the GOP convention. They dont have to say much. They lets the daily Kos, DU.com and Acorn do the dirty work, besides sending 30 attorneys to Alaska to the bars with cash. The only time the ex state trooper ex brother inlaw is mentioned specificially is by someone not on the GE Obama payroll. Asshole tazered a ten year old kid and threaten her father. But the media doesnt want to sully the reputation of a scumbag cop. They want this to go on and on.
When the Obama ad comes out about McCain and computers? Thats the best they can do? As often quoted. Do they think we are stupid? The man cant tie his own shoes, but use to fly a jet from an aircraft. W. was a big email user until he stepped over the doorway of whitehouse, where anything written is subject to subpeona.

The straight talk express came off the tracks years ago, here's hoping folks see through a senile old soldiers sense of entitlement, and lack of judgement.
Oh you are good! You just pissed off a half a centuries worth of old soldiers who are entitled to more than you could ever provide. I'd take McCain to cover my back anytime over the likes of liberals whose only goal in life is to keep out of harms way. Another way to say, BaaaaBaaa! Remember of Sheep, wolves and sheepdogs? Thank god we know where the sheep stand so we can remember not to count on them when the chips are down. McCain is an old sheepdog. He no longer seeks the fight but will never hide from it.

McCain's highest approval rating's now @ 60% in the battle ground state of Wa. And as I've noticed lately, more & more support for McCain has been expressed here on PP. Personally I like the fact we're a little more conservative. Mf

As of this morning McCain now leads Obama in the Rasmussen poll 50/47, has opened a lead in the presumptive electoral college count, and the gap is expected to widen (according to Rasmussen).
Just keep doing what you've been doing John!!! And pray that Obama keeps concentrating on Serah.

Just wondering, but do you suppose Obama could pass a background check or security clearance check with his past associates?
Of course he won't have to if he is elected. But that is something to think about.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Her rubbing one out qualities are inflated because we had to look at Hillary for the last year. They're inflated because most of the dudes doing it are hard-up old goats with nothing to look at back home. The whole fawning thing is somewhere between pathetic and sickening. NTTIWFHWD

McSame is up to 60% now(wow)? Are they trying to make Barry the underdog at the last moment so people will feel sorry for Uh-bama? - The come back kid, I can hear NBC billing it now "The greatest general election comeback ever." lol.
As for Gibson's sorry ass making up "bush doct." crap and springing it on Palin, that's sad. It's no wonder Palin looked at him like wtf.
I think it's funny when the dems want detailed answers on how someone will handle foreign affairs.
Meanwhile the entire press corps scowers Alaska looking for any dirt. I hope they get some good fishing time in. It seems like they are wasting their time otherwise. Read Krauthammer's piece in todays Boregonian, one of leftiest rags in the country. There is no one Bush Doctrine but as many as 7 according to Wikipedia. Even the "expert" liberal analysts can't agree on how many parts there are. So her answer of "In what respect Charlie" was right on. Like I said before Charlie is and idiot and now it shows. So tell me all you Bush hating experts, what is the real single Bush Doctirne? And you will get 0 points for MSU.
