I've been rethinking my vote for Ron Paul...
I don't think anything an intelligent citizen can do next Tuesday is going to make any difference. I thought for a while that a large number of votes for Ron Paul might encourage a third party movement, but at this time I think there are so many idiots and lazy culls in this Country that our fate is sealed.
I may be living 100 years too late...

You make a logical point, but that doesn't take a particle of truth away from my point. What were we supposed to do, elect Gore, or Kerry, ha ha give me a frikin break. I wouldn't hire any of the lot at my little company, let alone put any one of them in charge of as much as emptying a cat box. Where in the h3ll are the qualified applicants !

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Reality of 2008 is that any vote for Ron would have been a McCain vote...you certainly remember Ross Perot ?
I think McCain is a terrible candidate, but admit I think Obama is worse.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for a qualified candidate that doesn't seem to have the same problem telling the truth as the major party candidates.
I swore off voting for the lesser of two evils.

I know you did Dan, I was thinking the same way the other day, now that the talking heads are saying Obama is going to get it makes me think twice... Why can't there be a candidate that a guy can look up to, where's the candidate that I can respect, can send my son off to war for ?

... can send my son off to war for ? I'm sure what you really meant was that you don't send someone off to war for a man. Regardless of whether McCain or Obama is the next president, he is not who we go to war for. We go to war for every man, woman, and child in our nation.

Have you sent a son off to war Hoh? If so you know what a terrible thing it is, wondering if you will ever see them again? My first born did tours in Afganistan and Iraq..I feel for any young man or woman who has to face those horrors. He is forever changed by what he experienced over there, but please, if you feel you have to make light of his sacrifice, just to prove YOUR ideaology, know that you are sorely mistaken, and pathetic at best...STFU!!!!!!!

ND,
With all due respect to your son, Hohbomb is mostly correct. When corporations control our government, as all rational evidence indicates they do, then our military usually serves them. Your son's service in Afghanistan represents the defense of the US, as a retaliation against a direct attack against the US. However, your son's service in Iraq unfortunately didn't do anything to defend the US. The war in Iraq is a war of empire, initiated by an administration with an agenda far apart from national defense. No rational argument has yet been made that Iraq posed any real threat to the security of the US. Hence, we had no rational reason to attack.
What I think is pathetic in unexcusable is my cic who has put thousands of my fellow citizens in uniform in harm's way for purposes far removed from national defense. I appreciate the sacrifice your son and all his fellows in arms make on behalf of the US. I just happen to know better than to believe that what they've been sent to do in Iraq is somehow related to defending the security of the US. It's a travesty of justice and honor, and reason enough to be voting against the Republican Party in this national election.
Sincerely,
Salmo g.
