In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated ------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ---- ------------- -------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. -----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million. ------------------------------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:
List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this datum on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
As John Steinbeck once said:
1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.
2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
3. I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.
4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'
6. An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.
7. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.'
8. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!
But wait, there's more!
I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, 'Of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, 'No, not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.' To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.
I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment!

Didn't read it all as I could see where this NRA selective reasoning was headed.
I did read once where a guy actually protected himself with a gun so you have that going for you.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

And a few years back, the Freemen, who were armed to the teeth, would have been exterminated by an Apache gunship and an Abrams tank had they not laid down their arms.
Just as a reference.
You might think about comparing an apple to an apple next time.
I fully support the rights granted to us by the 2nd Amendment, and I don't see much difference between the Obama Administration and the Bush Administration (or any other recent Administration) in regards to our 2nd Amendment rights.

First bill introduced. Now all you liberals herd up and repeat after me. BBBAAAAAA!
Idiots!
You will have to carry a photo ID firearms license. A training class is required to be licensed. Disclosure of your storage method is required for license. A thumb print is required for license. Every sale recorded by the federal government. If you move, and don't tell the Attorney General within 60 days, you are a criminal. If a firearm is stolen and you don't report it, you are a criminal. There will be no grandfathered firearms. If you do not obtain a license and report every firearm you currently own, you are a criminal. There will be a license fee and a fee for the "services" provided at purchase time. Licenses must be renewed every 5 years.

Okay, gotta take a stab at this one:
You will have to carry a photo ID firearms license. - Boy, my driver's license is such a drag to carry around...
A training class is required to be licensed. - Hunter's safety, been there, done that...
Disclosure of your storage method is required for license. Currently required if you are a seller of firearms...
A thumb print is required for license. Just like my driver's license...
Every sale recorded by the federal government. Why do they put serial numbers on firearms again?
If you move, and don't tell the Attorney General within 60 days, you are a criminal. I thought sex offenders couldn't have guns...
If a firearm is stolen and you don't report it, you are a criminal dip$hit.
There will be no grandfathered firearms. If you do not obtain a license and report every firearm you currently own, you are a criminal. So what's new?
There will be a license fee and a fee for the "services" provided at purchase time. Licenses must be renewed every 5 years. Hmmmm, hunting and fishing licenses renewed every year, driver's every 4 or 5 depending on the state, blah blah blah.
I don't know why I care....

I don't know if this is real legislation or not but I am not for it. Mike I'm shocked that you are rolling over like a Panamanian whore. C'mon SS, devil's advocate is where it's at! Realistically though, none of that stuff is new, at least not down here in Cali. I was making fun of the hysteria part of it. Aunty! How many rounds a minute does your TV shoot?

SS- The only kookie thing on there is the photo ID part. All the rest exist in some form here, except the extra fees, sort of. I still own a few guns, but just don't get out for sport shooting anymore - I do miss shooting skeet! I know two licensed gun dealers down here. Not only do they have to provide info on how they store their merchandise, they have to provide maps showing the location of said merchandise in their homes. This goes back to the '90s, so it is really old news at this point. I just have to [censored] with fear/hysteria when I see it. Paradise is great! And, even though we just moved and my garage has boxes of stuff in it, it still is ten times better looking than Flys' man cave!

The box said something about 1080! (what kind of answer did you expect?) Something fun! It's all in good fun, but I should point out that I live too far away to be afraid of your wrath! Don't make me start the thursday thread again

If I remember right she's on satellite so we're all in range. Yes, but will there be serial numbers required on all ICBM's launched at us by Aunty?
