Under the patriot act, if you have in your possession a gallon can of gasoline, 3in1 oil, and certain brands of fertilizer, you can be labeled a terrorist by our government, stripped of your constitutional rights (including your guns), and shipped off to a location to be named later. Most people have these items in their garden/tool shed. Do you see how this is a problem? It's no different than if Hitler declared you an 'enemy of the fatherland' - you are toast.

The only thing I've seen driving the price of firearms up is the panic buying by people that are hysterical about laws that haven't been passed or enacted yet. And, if you were thinking about it, why would you spend money on firearms that you claim the government is going to take away from you anyway?

Don't listen to me though, I stuck a curtain hanger in an a.c. outlet as a child and it's completely ruined my ability to freak out. wink

right...because that happens all the time. you seem a bit paranoid. i never said i was for the patriot act. i just said i have never heard of anyone being affected by it. i havent bought any new guns for a while....they are to darn expensive. i prefer getting the tried and true guns. also, i never said i was worried about this new gun bill happening....that was just assumed by some people here.

Guess, what.........no gun legislation has ever affected me personally. So is it OK if I don't give a sh!t about efforts to trample on the 2nd Amendment? DC gun ban.......didn't affect me. I guess it's cool to ban guns in DC, then?

Get your head out. It's NEVER good when the gov't tramples your Constitutional rights, whether it affects you personally or not. The reason is, first it's "their" rights being trampled..........then it's your rights.

The rights granted you by the Constitution are what makes you a free American. Only some Commie should be OK with ANYONE losing the rights given them by the greatest document ever written.

i agree with you. i didnt specify my feelings correctly. i dont like any kind of government control....ever. i meant to say that i would be more concerned with something that affects me personally then with something that doesnt.....

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

That's how the government operates. First their rights, then yours.

You should be concerned with all erosions of the Constitution, not just those that afeect you.

Of course I sound paranoid, I told you I was shocked to sh1t when I was little wink The point is, IT DOES AFFECT YOU RIGHT NOW! It is a convenient way to deprive you of your constitutional rights at the drop of a hat. It does not matter that it hasn't happened to you yet, it's on the books and can be used abusively (as if there were a non-abusive use for this kind of BS) against you. Don't get uppity with "the man" and good luck. smile
