living with three minnesotan's over the past 4 months i've learned to accept hockey as a sport, they we're pretty crushed that their Wild didn't make it, but i got them rooting for the nucks!

I was bummed Minnesota Wild didnt make it either--I grew up in MN

Shouldn't hockey season be over about the time that the ice melts? Living in temperate western WA all my life, hockey has never made much sense to me.

But it remains the hardest final to get to in professional sports--all series go best of seven. Playing the sport did not make me appreciate that-well I am sure it did

60 miles North there are fanatics. Not to metion Phoenix, California, Georgia, Dallas, Florida,......all have professional Teams.

Ya, Kiper and Shay with their ''mock drafts'' for two months before the draft is exhilirating. Wow! Play for 5 seconds and stand around for 45 until we can construct another 2 yard gain. Thrilling. Touchdown...... commercial..... extra point..... commercial...... kick off ..... commercial.

Make each goal in hockey or soccer worth 6 points and people would say "wow. it was an 18-12 game."

NFL-(Not Fishing League)-1 game a week-maybe a BYE week-whats a season 16-18 games? playoffs seem weak to me they should do a best of seven 1 day rest if you make the playoffs.

NHL season is 82 games could be 3 games a week-- then best of seven playoffs--potentionally another 28 games for the cup. If a game ends in regulation in a tie (3 periods) play sudden death-games have gone another 3+periods in OT. Then you could play next day. That is why it remains the most earned trophy in sports. Play through injuries cause there is not 50 guys that are on the sidelines that can step in.

Not to disrespect the athletes that play any sport but I respect the endurance and skill hockey and soccer require.
