Had some folks help clean up some apples this afternoon. Last year this gal showed up with two fawns and the broken leg. I was suprised to find her back this year with her young buck. One tough gal being able to avoid the ever growing coyote pack.

I don't know where you shot that pic, but there is a dow very similar to that wandering around town. Terrible limp, but still going.

The Olympia coyote packs have been really busy the last few nights. Making an awful lot of racket. Maybe they'll finally nail that big orange neighbor cat that leaves paw prints all across my truck.

Saw a good looking coyote in the driveway at work last week. Hadn't seen one in quite a while. But the bunnies were busy as, well, bunnies this summer, so there's a lot of coyote forage. A few deer hang there as well. A forkhorn buck keeps the does reproducing around the St. Martin's campus. Neat place to work for the amount of wildlife in an othewise urban environment.

i grew up bordering st. martin's/dept of ecology and my folks still live out there. sure are a lot of deer there -- used to see a couple 4 points in the old farm field behind our property all the time, when it was still being farmed.

didn't really start seeing coyotes until around 5 years ago, now it seems like they're all over the place. lots of rabbits the last few years, too.
