This fish has the mark of mono, but not from Joe. Someone else downstream missed this one, and this fish almost 'Got Bent' in half.

If you wanna "get bent" the only way to do it is to get down and dirty! There's a reason folks that have fished in my boat remember me barking these oft repeated words..... LOW and LEFT!

I know we ain't gonna have ANY trouble landing a broad-shouldered tide-fresh platinum cruiseship when this kid eventually hooks up with his Release-A-Hog trophy MEGAbuck on the Kenai in 2011! Gonna have to make sure the measuring stick and fully charged digicam batteries are on board.

Also check out how both kids have mastered the art of the thumb lockdown.

With the spool locked, no line slips as they pull low and to the side. If the rod tip lunges, they simply release thumb pressure and let the drag take over as the fish takes off!
