MOVING TO MEXICO
Dear President Obama:
I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.
We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico , and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.
I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over?
Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3 Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history..
6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico but I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least! one Eng lish-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U. S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy..
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I'll need Income tax credits so although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't. pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car..
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U..S. from Mexico .
I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
Thank you so much for your kind help. You're the man!!!

You forgot to make the only made up element that would matter...make half a dozen of Mexico's biggest industries utterly dependent on the importation of low wage workers like me from America, without which they would tumble into the gutter overnight.
'Course, that wouldn't make the idiotic RWWJ email chain letter sound nearly as smart as it does...you know, having to use facts and stuff.
Fish on...

Updated May 24, 2010 - 5:38 pm Eastern Washington farm hires 300 Jamaican workers Comments (3) | Print this | E-mail this | ShareThis
MyNorthwest.com Staff
A farm in Eastern Washington is employing hundreds of Jamaican workers to replace the illegal immigrants it lost after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation last year.
Gebbers Farms in Brewster, WA, which grows apple and cherry trees, is hiring 300 workers from Jamaica through the H-2A visa program, issuing temporary agricultural visas.
Gebbers Farms is certified through the Department of Labor to hire foreign workers.
Mike Gempler, with the Washington Growers League, told KIRO Radio's Dave Ross, that US citizens get the opportunity to apply for the jobs, but that the farm still didn't find enough Americans to harvest its fruit.
Gempler said, "The problem is there's no guarantee that the people looking for jobs now will have legal documents. So you have businesses that are subject to enforcement actions by Department of Homeland Security."
Gempler added that Jamaica has a long history of sending people to the U.S. for farm jobs. "I think they just wanted to try out this particular program."
Jamaica's Minister of Labour and Social Security, Pearnel Charles, held a ceremony to send off the first 50 farm workers May 5. Another group departed the island May 12 and the remaining employees will leave June 3.
According to the Jamaica Observer, Charles said it was the "conduct and performance which would determine whether their contracts are renewed at the end of the six-month period."

...replace the illegal immigrants it lost after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation last year. Why isn't this farmer in jail? If he was found to have illegal immigrants working for him, he's proven he can't operate a business legally. He should have had his farm confiscated, sold, and he should be doing time.

- A National Population Registry keeps track of “every single individual who comprises the population of the country,” and verifies each individual’s identity. (Articles 85 and 86) So you're advocating increased government oversight of the populace? The 'baggers ain't gonna like that.

But more than likely, you'd be guilty of not reporting your income for tax purposes.

It's really that simple.

If I had put one of those little emoticons next to that statement would you have given any thought (apparently not within your capabilities) to the post having a degree of sarcasm? You are inferring then that the entire cut-n-paste was sarcasm? You don't agree with positions such as: • Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned: - Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116) - Foreigners who sign government documents “with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses” are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)
• Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons: - Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117) - Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118) - Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico — such as working with out a permit — can also be imprisoned.
If you're not consistent, how can we be sure you really know what you're talking about?

Listen.
Again.
I said Calderon should clean up his own yard before he came here to criticize our laws.
Simple enough for ya?
Don't some of the Mexican laws resemble our own? What? Is Calderon the one who sent out the mass email that Francis decided to C&P? He's one sly leader, that Calderon. Fish on... Todd

Blue water,
If your company started using E-Verify, why aren't the farmers required to, also? Every job I've had in the last 30 years required me to prove I was an American citizen with two forms of ID. Why aren't the farmers required to do the same?
Surely farmers aren't too stupid to realize they're hiring illegals? Or is it rather they know nothing will happen to them for doing so?
It's really quite simple, put a couple of them in jail, make them forfeit they businesses, and I guarantee you'll see a sharp reduction in illegals being hired. With no jobs, no income, they will be far less likely to come across the border. And it won't cost us the billions the repubs want to spend.

Put a few employers in jail, confiscate their business and I'll bet others start voluntarily using E-Verify or something equivalent. Put the onus on the employer to ensure his employees are legit.

... you can't throw people in jail for not doing something they're not required to do in the first place. You're required by law not to hire illegal immigrants. Put some business owners in jail. Make an example out of a few of them.

I'd go with bar codes stamped on the back of everyone's neck...while we're at it, let's instal GPS chips in everyone's left ass cheek.
Considering they don't want too much gubmint intrusion, the RWWJ's sure want to make sure the gubmint knows who we are, what we are, where we are, and who were with...about the most hypocritical thing about the wingnuts...and that's saying something.

Employers have a job to do & pay enough to government for government to do their own job, employers should NOT also have to be responsible for a government problem. That's a terrible cop out and the root of the illegal immigration problem. Some of you talk about stolen IDs like it's the norm; it's not, it's the exception. If these fake IDs are so good to fool all those smart businessmen, why aren't they good enough to fool law enforcement? Is LE really that much smarter than all those farmers in Arizona? Why don't the employers require the same as LE?

Gotta love folks from the NW and the seasons. In the SW Summer is the bad weather, hotter than hell. ( well almost ) The other three seasons it is very nice in the flat lands. Snow Bird heaven 8 months a year but come summer even the snakes hide. Need to visit in late Fall through Spring it is a different world.

Fishing ain't too great there either. Yup. AZ fishing blows major donkey cox. Matter o' fact, my fly rods didn't come out of hibernation the entire time I was down there. Since it was a record setting 127ş that weekend, we bugged out and took I-40 straight to SoCal and spent the July 4th weekend on the beaches of San Diego County. I swear hauling my camper across that state took 1/4 in. of rubber off my tires. WTF this has to do with illegal immigration I dunno and dont give a fawk. What my experience with illegals is involves a job as a teenager working swing shift as the only white guy in a cold-storage warehouse full of under the table illegals. A good way to get knifed.

I'm not comparing anything or anybody BWP.
The reality is that illegal immigration is a minor problem in this country when looked at in a big picture sense. But fanatical right-wingers don't understand or really seem to care about that fact.
My point is that it could be Muslims or Democrats or illegal immigrants... it doesn't really matter. In the conservative mind... any and all of them are to blame for all of life's problems. It's so much easier than facing their own shortcomings that way.

First we should send all the Californians back. Then move the border north. That would solve so many of this state (Washington) and this countries problems. You see the problem with California is that it is full of Californians and most of them are pushy, vain, self-centered, loud, rude, disrespectful, superficial, immoral, uptight, plastic, artificial and mindless. You live there and seem to be a perceptive guy, look around. Plus look what they have done to the rivers and countryside in So Cal, it's already ruined.
I couldn't care less about a few Mexicans coming across the border. Way more Californians come here and ruin Washington. They come here and say, "Washington needs to be more like California," Californians vote and they think they need to tell everybody else what to do, illegal aliens don't do that. There are far more Californians in Washington than there are Mexicans in Arizona. Just sayin.
Blow it out your ass. What an arrogant POS.

What's "more of an issue" depends on how you measure importance...if you are an politician looking at an actual issue that actually affects your constituency in a real and measurable way, then illegal immigration would barely make a blip on the radar...if you are a politician looking at what polarizing hot button issue can distinguish you from your opponents and garner you votes, then illegal immigration is high on your list in a place like Arizona. That's also the explanation for the gigantic hullabaloo over what should be a 100% non-issue, that of abortion. Same with religion, though to be fair, that's all the abortion issue involves, too. Fish on... Todd P.S. Checking in from Missoula, three weeks on the road starting yesterday

I get so goddamn sick and tired of shitstains like you prince. I try to defend my outdoor, hunting, fishing, ranching lifestyles all the time due to idiots like you that make these broad brushed attacks and try to lump everyone in and from California together. You are no better than a racist due to your blanket generalizations. F*cks like you are the ones that vandalize vehicles at trail heads when you see California plates. You think you are somehow superior to a guy from here because of your zip code? Whatafuckingjoke. You spread the hatred of sportsmen you see from California like we are the whacked out liberal treehugging freaks that want to remove you from your guns and hunting. Your ignorance is astounding, the law doesn't require you to carry proof of citizenship. It requires police that have a "reasonable suspicion" to investigate and if that investigation turns up "probable cause" to arrest the person, instead of just ignoring their illegal behavior. Both "reasonable suspicion" and "probable cause" have technical legal definitions. Why don't you actually read the law instead of listening to people who didn't read the law and the media's spin on it before getting your panties in a bunch.
You claim you've been to Arizona, how did you miss all the farms? I've only been to Arizona once and was surprised that it wasn't a complete barren desert. There are indeed lots of farms, they irrigate just like they do in Eastern WA. There are a lot of cotton fields, cattle ranches and fruit and nut orchards. They are also a big producer of lettuce. I've been there once for 3 days and even I know this. You must be very unperceptive. In the above post you lambaste a guy for being ignorant and unperceptive. WTF? Take a look in the mirror jerkoff. Northern California ain't the shithole you think it is, both in geography and human composition. Trust me dickwad, you ain't holding a candle to the hunters & fishers I'm runnin with. These Cali boyz are hunting and fishing way more than your self righteous almighty Washington keyboard punching ass. You can take your ignorant bullsh*t somewhere else. I'm bettin my teenage kid has more hunting & fishing under his belt than your smarmy ass. I see more liberals on this Washington based board than any other outdoor board I have ever spent time on. Oh wait, those must all be California transplants right? Just continue to polish BigSticks nuts, maybe you can raise your IQ a few points. "Just Kidding"......not really. You Californians are all the same, Sure we are....
