Still putzing away at getting my house finished. A lot of details lie between nearly finished and . . . finished enough to live in. Although it's been a while since I posted any pictures, I'm flat out amazed at what a pita it is to post pics. No wonder I seldom post any. Hats off to those of you who do. It takes me all of my lunch hour.

Remember my scaffolding to paint the gable on the basement side? Not OSHA approved.

Here's the front of the house, pretty much finished except for a driveway and planter in front of the porch.

Got the porch and deck railings finished. This is the deck on the east side of the house.

Here's the master bath tile work before the shower glass.

And here's the shower glass with the fish sandblasted on it.

The master bath granite counter and sinks. No mirrors yet; gotta' get those.

The fireplace is surrounded with slate. The cubby hole on the left will be a wood bin on the lower part, and the A/V system will go above. Wires to speakers in the ceiling and out on the deck are visible in the photo.

And these oak stairs leading to the basement I built this past winter.

Still have a few odds and ends, but mainly need to add the tile backsplash to the kitchen counters before we move in.

Wow. That is something to be proud of. Lots of great custom features.

I really like the tile work in your tub splash. The custom glass is great, for a fisherman's bathroom. My wife would not let me do something like that. My wife is tiling the mosaic in our shower room right now.

I am on the home stretch as well. Finishing the master bathroom tomorrow for my appraisal inspection on Wed.

Wow nice work Sg.

RR you beat to the punch on the bathroom shower glass. No way would I get away with something like that. It looks great though. The eyes on those fish look mean thumbs

Great work on the stairs and custom features throughout. Like the shingle siding on the porch supports. Nice touch.

Thanks for sharing Steve....stretching your abilities to post pics and all....most appreciated. Loved the non approved pic of the ladder on the top deck. The fish on the shower door didn't suck too bad either.

If you lived closer I'd hook you up with some fresh nook.

It never occurred to me that some women might object to the fish art on the shower glass. Mrs. Salmo likes it; besides, there will be fish art throughout the house. She even found a doorbell with a fish art design.

Hank, the fireplace is both aesthetic and practical. Although not far from town, the power goes out fairly regularly here. So it will be handy to have as a back-up heat source. That reminds me, I'll need to buy a generator at some point too.

I need to get some mirrors ordered for the bathrooms, and hope to tile the kitchen counter backsplash before Bouy 10 turns on. The concrete guy is gonna' come back and finish sidewalk and driveway elements in the next 2 - 3 weeks. Then I'll have the inspector come back for the "final."

Aunty, we did that at the peak of steelhead spawning season, naturally. Thanks.

Hank, I didn't say what kind of generator, but when the power goes out here, there ain't much sunshine. Maybe wind.

JQ,

An artist friend who is a retired wildlife biologist in Lacey. PM me your contact information if you like. I'll see him tomorrow evening and ask him if he's interested in another glass project. Really doesn't take very long. More time spent thinking about it and designing it.
