There is a piano bar in Tacoma, you can probably Google it. Women seem to like that kind of thing.

Tacoma waterfront has several nice pubs and restaurants. I think there's an Anthony's down there? If you're anything like me you may try to take her to one of the sportsbars so as not to miss one of the evening college FB games

I have to take my wife out... With that attitude it probably doesn't matter where you go; you've already lost. But aside from that, what sort of things does your spouse enjoy? There's the history museum, glass museum, art museum all within walking distance of one another. For an intimate romantic dinner there's a little place called Over the Moon Cafe on Opera Alley. If she enjoys good craft beer, there's a great little tavern with an awesome neighborhood atmosphere called the Parkway Tavern near Wright's Park. Wright's Park has a nice atrium to wander through, too. Doyle's Public House has a wonderful Irish atmosphere with great beer and food. And then there's the higher end places like El Gaucho's, Melting Pot, and the Cliff House, which by the way has a great view of the city at night. The piano bar mentioned earlier is probably Chopstix on 6th Ave. Of course you could always do what's comfortable for you and just go to Deja Vu after dinner at Hooters.

For some reason I have more fun in T-town than I do in Seattle. It's cheaper, the drive's not as schitty, there's parking, and it's not full of asswipes from the mid-west in pleather jackets carrying messenger bags.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out.
GH,
I pretty much can't stand the puget sound area, more dissappointed with that, spending time with the wife is alright by me.

I hear that the Klan and the John Birch Society are holding a joint "We hate Muslims, Mexicans, liberals and Obama" rally that weekend. Definitely sounds like something you and the Mrs. would probably enjoy. just kiddin'!

The key to answering this question lies in what type of entertainment you're looking for...
If it's a nice dinner I'd head down to Ruston Way or try the Melting Pot or El Gaucho on Pacific although both can get pricey. Ruston Way is a better option if you don't want to drop $$$. There is an Anthony's at Point Defiance, but it is a little more causal than most of their other locations, although the menu is about the same. There is an Anthony's Homeport in GH as well.
Also I'd recommend getting a reservation anywhere you go. It's homecoming season and all of the options above are popular choices with that crowd. I got a growler filled last Saturday night at the RAM and the whole area was packed.
I second the Parkway Tavern. I'm not much of a beer person, but it does have a great atmosphere. Same goes for the Tides in GH and the SPAR in Old Town. Pomodoro in Proctor District in quaint and great for Italian.
Chopstix is another place I'd suggest having a reservation. It can get very busy and in all honesty, it's more of a place for your wife to go with her girlfriends. So unless she's got her heart set on a piano bar, I'd go elsewhere. On the upside it is right across the street from a couple other bars (Jazzbones, E-9, Masa) so if you got bored there are other options. Varsity Grill also has a piano bar, but their food leaves something to be desired.
If you're into live music/nightlife, The Swiss is usually a good time, but it can get pretty packed depending on the band. Jazzbones, mentioned above, is also pretty good in this category.
I hope that helps.

I hate the Melting Pot. You pay $100 to cook your own food!
I also agree with SP regarding the Chopstix. The reason I brought it up was because the women I was with last weekend were talking about going there. That is why I thought WRO wife would like it.

Bring your rod and go to the bridge viewing area and you can do some fishing tossing buzz bombs. Nice hike along the beach as well! From there you can head over to the narrows airport and check out the air traffic for a bit. Kind of a cool deal. Another fun bar in the Harbor is the Hiyu hehe. Good food like the tides but a little more laid back maybe. The beach tavern is awesome I could give you directions but map quest it and thats the easiest. It is in Tacompton but you access it off the 1st exit. There is an Anthony's in downtown gh, and I recommend going down and eating in the bar. Take a jaunt out to Hoodsport and check out the fishing and definitely check out the winery. If you have any questions or need a ride back to the hotel or house from a sober guy let me know. 253 219 5661 Have fun and don't forgetv that some people in gh think their bleep doesn't stink. Kind of a downer.

Thanks for the reccomendations..
Went to spiros in Gig harbor, it was alright, service was good though.
Then went to chopstiks, wife liked it, I liked watching the game.. Win win. Then on sunday afternoon I went to Minter creek and caught a couple cohos, not a bad weekend all in all.
