Well our first shot at kings this year sure payed off. Hit redondo at 5:30 this mornin. To make a long story short, my dam girlfriend kicked our butts. We hooked 8 kings and 1 coho, biggest was 15lb hatchery so we bonked it. Hooked it in 100ft of water DR at 60ft on a blue/white Silver Horde all by its self. There were bait balls everywhere out in front of the launch in about 100ft of water. My friends first time out in 5 years and he landed 5. Cream ocotopus at 70ft. Of course i get the shaker. Only saw a few boats. As soon as they saw us hooking up, we had company. We also had 2 doubles, which was nice. Off the water by 12. Seeya out there.

I'll tell you one thing. Taking a picture of a spastic king and trying to release it kindly isn't very easy. We managed to only get 2 of them on film. They were almost imposible to hold on to when you try to lift them out of the water.(duh) Nothing like how lakers hold still and say cheese for ya. But we got the whole fight of the 15lber on video.
Still hittin' Elliot Carl??? I don't think we are going to make it out. We got really sunburnt. The sound was glass the whole outing, and not a cloud in the sky. And we were a little late putting the sunblock on. I guess you just have to look at it like it's war paint. But we might get a wild hair up our butts and go anyways.

MAN, FFF, Can I go fishing with you?? Apparently there is alot I need to learn. I had to get off the water today (saturday) at 12:pm cuz my sunburns were singing so bad my nose was purple and blistered. I will pay for EVERYTHING. IT is not that I am rich it is just I need to catch as many fish this summer as possible before school starts. Please allow me to join you and learn everything way that you fish these monsters. E-mail me back at: wingythefurry@hotmail.com

Well, if i would have seen your post earlier i would have said lets go tomorrow. But my boat is full again for sunday. Hopefully the wind won't pick up and the bait is as thick as it was friday. I have to make up for the spanking my friend and g/f dish out to me last time. But i bet all the boats will be crouding the area i want just like they were doing today.
I believe i saw you on friday. In a red and white ski boat, but i didn't think of it untill we took out. I guess carl is going out tomorrow too.

Sunday at Redondo was so-so fishing. Put in at 5 and didn't hook up untill about 9. Put 2 5-6lbers in the boat then saw another guy land about a 10lber. Then at about 1030 one pole pops off and speeds off line, then the other pole does the same but we never even got to the poles before they were gone. I hate barbless.
Saw very few bait balls. Trolling herring got nothing. Artificials had the advantage. And the pride and joy of the whole trip was my 5 inch flounder i caught on the armytruck coho killer 70ft off bottom. Good old armytruck...
Another guy came in with 4 nice fat fish.

We fished PD on Sunday. We got one king,it weighed in at 22lbs. Got it right at the change. There was a real good bite for 1/2 hour at the change. In that period we saw 25-30 kings boated. We even saw one boat with 3 kings on at once, never seen that before, and they landed all 3.

Well, as for all of the true native fish, i doubt all of them are gone. Remember the guy last year that landed a 52lb king out off desmoines? I doubt that was a hachery fish or a spawn from a hatchery fish. But who knows. I just think that if a clipped fin makes the journey and spawns and it's offspring makes it back too to spawn, then it deserves to live.
It should be considered a wild fish if all the true wild natives are gone. It's spawn and generations after might actually have a chance to get a foothold in the system they were introduced into. In a system with natives, this may be a bad thing like everyone says, but if there's no natives left then these returning spawn of a spawn of a spawn are now the new "Natives" in the system. In my opinion, they should be treated the same. There's no real need to keep them. Is there? But i don't care if you they them do keep em. I just prefer not too. It's all part of the sport. It's all good.
As for fishing, we went last sunday, wednesday and this sunday at redondo and got 4 at around 5-7# a piece. Nothing special. Lots of bait. Where's the fish???

my former girlfriend, now wife, used to out fish me in every catagory. her technique was to let me stick whatever i wanted to on her line, she'd throw it out fall asleep or read and WHAM! fish on. i'll never forget fishing for weeks on end on holter lake in montana for walley, nothing. one day she comes out with me starts napping away and ten minutes later pulls in a 29.5 inch walley. i almost drowned myself. after she married me she's refused to get on the water with me. hope that's not your luck, or you may have many slow days on the water . just kidding, in anycase nice fish, where'd you get into 'em?

That's really sad Sushi. I have the opposite problem. She bugs me all the time to go and she almost never uses what i tell her to use. She simply asks me what colors the fish typically hit on and from there she's a lure changing madwoman. She sits with her watch and times out exactally 20-25 minutes and then changes lures, no matter what. Even if she hooked one on a paticular lure. She thinks exactally like i do. She just refuses to believe the fish will only hit one paticular lure or color. She amazes me alot. And she has outfished me alot. BUT she would never hook up like she does if she didn't have such a good guide taking her to all the hot spots She got that one at Redondo on a 6" blue and white silver horde. We got 8 that day, but of course hers was the biggest.
