I'm looking for two deep cycle batteries. Please let me know what you have or if you know where I can find a good deal.
Thank you,
Drew

Do not buy used!
Shop around your local area and buy a good charger also.
You can buy the best deep cycle batteries made, but if you dont charge them properly, they will not last.

Yep, I'd check Costco (or maybe Wally World) At least Group 27 size.....I'm thinking about $75 each. This is the size that completely fills one of those common battery boxes. I wouldn't mess with the smaller group 24 size for your application.
Johnson Controls makes many of the common brands you'll see. Look at specs, warranty, weight. Heavier is generally better, unfortunately.

I looked at the batteries at Wallmart tonight. The Everstart deep cycle battery that was around $70.00 had specs of about 720 CA and 115 AH. (can't remember exact specs) I'd assume a couple of these should do the trick for the time being. I'm not expecting them to last too long so I'm not worried about the quality of the batteries themselves right now. I'd be happy if I could get 4 or 5 hours out of them per day on the water with moderate use of the trolling motor.

Check into getting a rectifier for your trolling motor. No more dead batteries.

Those are good specs. Free replacement during first year ? Not sure. I believe so since it's walmart. You can pretty much buy a bag of chips there, eat them all, and return the bag for your money there. haha. Batteries may be a different story though. Drew

Check into getting a rectifier for your trolling motor. No more dead batteries. Can you elaborate on the rectifier? does minnkota make them or are they pretty universal? Drew

Oh. Not sure about a Minnkota. Probably not. A rectifier will send current back to the battery (changes AC to DC I believe) from the motor keeping the battery charged. I often run into people who don't know it's on additional accessory you can purchase on many kicker motors.

Drew If this is for your db, it won't work. I believe he is talking about using your gas motor to recharge your batteries. No gas motor = no recharging.
