I think all I need to do is grease the pockets of a few shitstick preachers, and they'll tell the sheep that they must have spoons and spinners to capture food after the Armageddon...sales will go thru the roof.

Reminds me of Y2K. Knew a devout family that decided that Jesus was a'comin' and he's pissed.

The old man convinced he MIL, his sons and daughters to sell their houses cut-rate, then he mortgaged his place to the hilt and used all the combined cash to bury shipping containers transformed into bombshelters complete with TWO 50 kW diesel generators. (WTF you gonna get diesel after the armageddeon? Don' ask me.) They used the rest to buy guns, ammo, and food. Then they hunkered down on New Year's Eve.

New Years' morning all three of his son's wives walked out side and filed for divorce and took the kids. His daughter's husband did the same. The MIL had herself put into a home and disinherited them before she died. To this day, none of them have been able to get another house. Last I heard, the old man, his wife and one of the sons share an apartment in Lewis County, while the other kids have started trying to rebuild their lives.

Being a Chicken Little can be costly.
