Is there any action on Sammamish this time of year???

Fisher, I don't fish samamish until the first part of April. That doesn't mean you won't catch anything now, but the fishing gets better when the water warms up a little.

Years ago I would fish Sammamish in March for big cutts. Trolling big spoons(Dick Nites, Needlefish, etc in 2 inch size) off downrigger at 25-30 feet. We're talking big cutts.

Haven't fished it in years, too many waterskiers and jet skiers. Don't even know the regs anymore.

But it might be worth looking into.

check with the hatchery because when they start dumping salmon smolts into the creek is the key to nailing the big cutts. Troll any lure that is the color of Coho smolt and you will do well. I have done well with everything from flatfish to spoons. All small sizes. I troll them off a rigger and match the depth to the fish showing. All within 1/2 mile of the mouth of the creek.
