I wonder how many times he crashed to get to that level of flying?
That is an expensive and time consuming hobby.

Amazing. That's what horsepower will do for you - that plane was hardly even flying, just hanging on the prop half the time.
This is about all you can do with the real thing.

Car and Driver tested the McLaren F1 car back in the mid-90's when it was a mid-pack runner, and it went 0-100-0 in 6 seconds. And they'll pull more than 4 G's in lateral acceleration.
Crazy.

No. Used to atternd all the contests around the NW and pranged a lot of birds but never at that level of skill. Kinda partial to Nordic A2 and free flight in general. Hand launched glider was always the most fun for the invested effort.

That Renault V10 was badass!
I went to the race in Spa, Belgium the last year of the V-10's. I thought my ears might bleed at the end of the race.
The crazy thing is you have to run their engines (now 2.4L V-8's running at 18K rpm) for 2 races of 2 hours each, before you can replace them. You can't replace the gearbox for 5 races.
Simply amazing engineering.

2012 USGP in Austin, TX.
Be there.
In 2013, you'll have 2 USGP's to choose from - Austin, TX, and the Palisades, New Jersey with NYC in the background.

That is amazing flying. I'm sure he's crashed many planes.
Growing up, we had a neighbor who flew model aircraft over the beach. Before I knew who he was, I always thought these planes were lost, flying back and forth over the beach.
