Hey guys im heading out the Lake Sammamish this weekend to fish for cutthroat/rainbows. THis is my first time fishing for trout on this lake. I would appreciate any advice on tackle and techniques ( i do not have downriggers) and any good locations (depth of fish too). Thanks a lot.

This time of year I believe the focus is the south end of the lake in the area of Issaquah creek. Check some of the archived reports for techniques. In fact, I believe there was an excellent report posted in the past few weeks. Good luck!

I've actually had better luck up at the north end, trolling out in the middle by the floating weather station. I normally put at least one rod out w/ leaded line and a needlfish, Dick Nite, Triple Teaser etc. and have at least one rod on top with a tiny dodger and a fly.

I'm debating whether to go to Sammamish or try up around Juanita ( Lake WA)were some guys have been doing very well.

Good luck.
