I will be at Jameson on the weekend of the 20th with my 5 year old son and 2 nephews. What is the name of the resort? Do they have a website?

opps, shame on me. The resort is Jake's Resort. They don't have a web site. They do have a banner ad on the Jameson report section but it doesn't go anywhere. If you go please mention you heard about them from this site.

Just one report so far which wasn't great, but when I spoke with the resort operator earlier last month she told me the alge bloom they have had in the past is gone and the lake is clear. It has a great reputation in years past.

Alta is a nice lake. Been there a million years ago. It seems to always fish well early on. There is a state park there.

Mike,

Thanks a lot for the comments. The reason why I posted this was becuase the one report on Jameson wasnt very positive. I will keep my eye out for more reports as we get closer to the weekend of the 20th. I love Jameson, have had great success there, but I am worried about the alge bloom and level of the lake. I keep watching and hopefully someone will report later.

I've fished Jameson for the past 25 years and it's gone downhill rapidly over the 4-5 years. I spoke with the fish biologist last Oct. on the opener and they lost most of the years fry plant to fish kill. They had to do an emergency fish plant of jumbo trout several days prior to the Oct 1 opener. It was the poorest fishing I've ever experienced there.

If you're serious about catching fish then Jameson has always been a top 10 lake, but it's been knocked quite a ways down the list with the water problems. Aesthetically Alta Lake has Jameson beat all the way around and the winds are not as much a problem.
