It's not done yet. Crushed rock is the road bed for now. Lots of work going on out there. Fish are ready to. See you out there Mr. Bill.

I am new to this forum, but I'd like to know where else I can launch if the new one isn't done yet. I have a trailered 12ft aluminum with a 9.9hp motor (and an electric) - I've never been to Kapowsin before and am planning a trip there (from Silverdale) on Sunday. Any help/hints are greatly appreciated - especially about how to get to any possible launch sites. Thanks in advance.

1/4 mile past the new launch is Ericson's you can launch there for $5 how ever it is a slide launch. As in you push it off the trailer slide it down the wood ramp and then pull it up at the end of the day. It works but you may want to wait until fall when they open the state launch site.

I wouldn't run any gas motor there. Electric running shallow. Many stumps, and that is putting it lightly. I have hit many stumps with my electric motor. Would hate to hit one going any faster.

I appreciate the input - I will leave the gas at home. I'll bring my extra electric motor prop and an extra battery for good measure. Thanks for your help.

All things said were true (as I expected, of course). Boat launch is still in the works (no dock started) and stumps galore. I ran over a couple and hit one with the electric motor. I used Erickson's launch and it worked fine. Fishing was pretty poor for me. My biggest fish was a bass that was close to 12". Thanks again for the helpful information.

Open, I don't know. Were people using it? yes. Lots of finish work to be done yet, no fishing dock yet. The launch is done, you might not be able to launch during the week, but the weekend there is no work going on. There is a small restroom, fresh assfault, and dry concreate. looks a lot better than the old launch, a lot more open. This is everyone second chance to step up and report tweekers, and degenerates, enjoy.

I was by Lhe Launch last week and they were completing the paving on the project. They have to set the out-houses an bolt them down (the vaulted sump pits are already buried) and install the docks. I spoke to the engineer & owner of the construction company; in addition, he laid out the blueprints for me to see. There will be a 26' loading dock attached to the launch and an addittional 40' fishing dock for non-boaters that will have handi-cap access. He said it will be ready for use sept. 1st. Tight Lines

The parking lot is filling up pretty quickly, but that is just because it's new. For all those who have recently fished Kapowsin, don't give up on it yet. It is a strange year. The bass are not where they should be this time of year. They are out there, they are just not acting normal. (Kapowsin has given up two 5 1/2 lbs bass to me this year) As for trout you better bring your new bag of tricks, these fish for some reason do not fall for the standard tricks often. If all else fails try a black and green roostertail, weighted, trolled at high speed. like top speed on the trolling motor Don't ask me why, but when they are not bitting they like this. Mike C. hold out for a cloudy day. Remember they don't call it deadman's lake for nothing.

The dock is done, but it is more of a boat dock and not a fishing dock.
