This may be on here somewhere, but don't forget to go to Starbucks on Feb 14. Long story short... Anti gun groups lead by the Brady campaign are boycotting Starbucks on Feb 14 due to Starbucks support of open carry laws. Freedom lovers ate encouraged to buy coffee at Starbucks on Feb 14 and feel free to go armed.

Open carrying my G23 tomorrow, first time OC'ing. thumbs

I don't really go to Starbuck's anyway, mostly because I prefer actual coffee shops rather than their corporate mud...so without making any political statement whatsoever, I won't be at Starbuck's tomorrow.

Fish on...

<= This "anti-gunner" owns plenty of guns...he just doesn't write about them on the InterWebz so everyone knows what he's got, and doesn't send one red cent to the NRA or any other alarmist organization that will take my money and run.

Not "anti-gun"...just "anti-idiot".

Have fun at your "caffiene in"...

whats the point of open carry anyways? it doesnt make you any safer, or cooler.. why get a CONCEALED permit, then carry openly? whats the point? you can still get socked in the mouth, and not legally be able to pull your weapon, and or use it, you know that right?

I open carry a travel mug of coffee all of the time. I also conceal carry in a big thermus when fishing. What's the big deal?

As far as whack jobs worried about gun grabbers I think they should steer clear of caffeine all together.

Don't visit coffee shops and latte's aren't coffee. Black french roast for me. Tea is for English crumpet eaters.

I'm pro gun, but I would feel strangely weirded out wandering into Starbucks and seeing all the customers packing heat.

Dear (me):

Thank you for contacting Starbucks.

Thank you for your feedback regarding Starbucks' policy on open carry laws. I am truly happy to hear that you support and appreciate our gun policy!

At Starbucks, we deeply respect the views of our customers and recognize that there is significant and genuine passion surrounding the issue of open carry weapons laws. We comply with local laws and statutes in the communities we serve. Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states. Where these laws don't exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited.

As the public debate around this issue continues, we encourage customers and advocacy groups from both sides to share their input with their public officials. We are extremely sensitive to the issue of gun violence in our society and believe that supporting local laws is the right way for us to ensure a safe environment for both partners and customers.

We will be happy to see you in our stores today for Valentines Day! Thanks again for writing us to share your feedback and also for your support, have a beautiful day!

If you ever have any questions or concerns in the future, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Sincerely,

I think Starbuck's and Peet's were under common ownership until the middle 80's...?

Starbucks has been pretty good for the local economy-just I the jobs, competition, and attention to coffee-then it spread. What's wrong there? I didn't stop listening to Nirvana when they left Sub Pop.

Many many jobs created worldwide by a local company- its been good to this fam and I think many more. Great to communities as it requires many community hours for employees.

Now bringing a gun into a coffee shop in Seattle area - not wise after the Lakewood incident

I've got no problem whatsoever with Starbuck's as a company...just if given my choice, I have a few other coffee companies whose coffee I prefer.

Fish on...

Your statement is similar to the Walmart debate... Yes, it creates jobs, but it also kills tons of small businesses and those jobs... I have worked with them ( not as an employee), and know first hand how they conduct business on the back end (not visible to the public) and let me say that they are not on my list of reputable "local companies".

I'm not bashing them.... Just not a fan.

I agree and understand -I have a few Coffee shops with Starbucks around the corner I would walk into and get a cup ( without a firearm)
Driftr- would you agree it has given nationwide attention and success to coffee? I have friends in Midwest that have successfully opened coffe shops with SB in the limelight. Before they had folgers in the can. It's good to not be a fan it gives you reason to succeed-just do it your way- hopefully the right way

Here there are coffe stands on every corners - some even have boobies

Same can be said for "micro brews"

Speaking in terms of the Midwest market, I totally agree with you... sbux did drive milk based espresso and coffee mainstream, and yes, they were doing this before 90% of the shops ( even the slut huts :), but just because they made milk based drinks popular, doesn't really give them the right to bully people out of the neighborhood and be forced to close because they don't have the fiscal means to compete. In terms of successful shops after the fact. It's only natural that you'll get the anti-sbux shop that does well in the shadow of them...

It's capitalism and I get it... but not the actions of a reputable company IMO.

Yes, the same can be said for micro brew, but I don't see Mr. Hale out there practicing the same ideals just because he helped popularize the micro brew here in Washington and other places.

This degenerate goes thru two 12 cup pots of coffee a day. My caffeine
dependence doesn't allow for Starbucks or any other shop existence.
I always have one of the old green Stanley quart dewars full when I
get out and about. Caffeine is good for you. lol
