Remember Boner, Santorum, Romney and the rest of the far right howling about Obama's “attack on religion.” Turns out 66% of Americans side with Obama. Last night Colbert outdid himself on this subject with a hilarious monolog. But back to my point. The R candidates are trying so hard to out conservative each other they are losing the independents and moderates they must have to get elected. Getting all hyperventilated over something 66% of the voters do not agree with you on is no way to win a general election. Some pundits are now saying Romney is getting Doled. Meaning he will be so badly battered before the general election he won’t stand a chance. Too bad. We could have used a middle of the road visionary leader who was all about compromise to get things done. Instead we will get a moderately incompetent D president an R senate and who knows what type of house. Bottom line is four more years of ceaseless bickering and no one getting the people’s business done. BTW not long ago the pope was all for universal health coverage. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/publi...-205113637.html

If we had to put all the moronic things the R's do, and all the reasons why they can't even take over the White House in what should be the easiest pickings since Jimmy Carter, it would be a 90 page thread...this keeps it all manageable Fish on... Todd

Hank,
Happy is an understatment. You guys have clearly gone amuck. I just wanted this particular screw up to have its own spotlight, as it shows exactky why the Rs have lost a great chance to retake the Whitehouse.
Maybe I should check with you before I start a news post? Naw, I don't think I will.
You can feel free to ignore any post you wish.
Or you can even try to find issue with the premise of this post.
I don't blame you for getting upset. I would too if the Ds were so hellbent on self destruction.

I totally agree.
The longer the R's campaign the higher Oboma's approval rating gets.

I would have to agree that the ultra religious angle is a big turnoff for me. One thing matters most to me is the economy and it appears as if they are ignoring en masse.

I thought Dave did a good job pin-pointing a major problem in a not-so-wordy fashion. I'll be glad when the show gets down to two, so have been just refraining from the on-going clown show commentary.

I should have trade marked the term "Clown Show" then I could have been a rich Republican!

An article in today's paper points out that folks are getting so upset with the Rs several senate seats once felt to be safely R may now be in play, including North Dakota. This campaign may be one that goes in the history books as the worst blown opportunity ever.

I believe that recently Santorum said something along the lines that it would be beter for the R's to lose, but maintain ideological purity, than to win by selling their souls to compromise.

Ever hear the term "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered"?
In this case the R's had a stranglehold on the White House...and instead of just taking it, they figured...incorrectly...that the other 75% of America thinks Obama is a Nigerian Kenyan Muslim Socialist, too, and that now is the time for the lunatics to take over the asylum, and they can turn this country into a theocratic Jesusland.
Now, instead of having the White House and a majority in the House, they now have zero chance of getting the White House, and will lose seats in both the House and the Senate.
This is what happens when the few of you Republicans who don't think being a thinker (i.e. "intellectual elite" in dumshitt terms) is a bad thing sit on your hands while the lunatics on the far right took over your party. Instead of standing on priciples, you stood on "we'll take your votes, even if you are fuckin fruitcakes"...now it's the other way around, they're taking your votes, and your party.
You have no one but yourselves to thank.
The rest of us thank you, too.
Fish on...
Todd

I believe that recently Santorum said something along the lines that it would be beter for the R's to lose, but maintain ideological purity, than to win by selling their souls to compromise. Nothing wrong with that...and while I think that Ricky is insane, he at least seems the most honest amongst the Clowns. If he were to win the nomination we'll see if his far right theocratic authoritarianism is his real ideology, or if it's just manufactured to "out dingbat" the rest of the Clowns to get the nomination. In my opinion, it's real...and real scary. Fish on... Todd

It would be hilarious except that these clowns are in charge of our nation!
