I drink bourbon on the rocks for the most part and this weekend was sipping Woodford Reserve when a friend offered me some of this.

I drank some (neat) to try and determine if I liked it or not. Believe me I want to like it because it is a bit cheaper than WR, MM, or KC. Basically about $5 less for a liter than for a 5th of the other premium bourbons.

I immediately thought it tasted like Knob Creek with a bit more heat from the alchohol. Turns out after research it is sort of Knob Creek or at least a Jim Beam product. I am thinking if I give it 5 minutes on ice, it might be a pretty good alternative to WR or MM which are my favorites. It didn't taste as sweet to me as MM, but that is not a bad thing. For a mixing bourbon, I think it would stand up pretty well, although I don't do that.

Anyone else try it? What do you think of it?

I was wondering about Costco's house brand tequila. Apparently their Scotch is a 15 year McCallam; not bad.

I have read the same about their scotch. Supposedly their vodka is Grey Goose. I have not read what the burbon may be. This is from mining google and other forums.

Funny..I was mentioning to some friends that I bought a bottle of this and really liked it, especially in its price bracket.

iIve bought a couple of bottles since and you are right, after it soaks on some ice for a couple minutes it's very decent.

I'd just refill it with Monarch for the girls I run with.
