Every river has it's crowd challenges, I may own a lodge in Alaska but I grew up on the OP and know those rivers as well as anyone. They all have become crowded, just like the Snohomish system which is where I raised a family.
Everyone getting along is a must, but really important on small rivers like the OP or the Situk. A crowded day on the Situk has all the guides working together to make sure every client has a great experience! Of course like any river that has guides and independent fishermen, it will be a challenge and someone will always think they own the river.
I make sure our guides help anyone on the river no matter if they are at our lodge or some other, the point is to get those people into fish so they have a good time.
I have stopped and shown many people on the Situk how to catch fish and given them enough gear to get through the day and I never care where they are staying!
As for crowds, the Situk has crowds about 20% of the time the fish are in the river, the rest of the time you could fish all day and never talk to another person, just did that during Coho season, 2 days in a row without another boat and more fish than you can imagine to hook and release.
The Situk is a very special river and reminds me of my childhood days on the OP.
