A party favorite...

2 - 8oz tubs whipped cream cheese
4 - 6oz of smoked salmon (or more if you'd like)
1 - tbsp minced garlic
1 - bunch finely chopped green onion
1 - 2 sticks finley chopped celery
1/4 tsp black pepper

Mix cream cheese, garlic, onion, celery and pepper together in a glass serving bowl. Once all mixed crumble and fold in smoked salmon. For best results chill overnight before serving. Best served with ritz or club crackers

Enjoy!

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Try adding a little fresh dill some time.

Took a pretty similar recipe to a Super Bowl party and those people were on it like a pack of wolves.

The dill sounds good, will have to give it a try. I am thinking of trying a little cayenne pepper next time to give it a little zip.

fresh dill is a must with salmon dip..some grated cheddar in it is alright sometimes too... be carefull with how much cayanne you put in it tho, too much will ruin it.. start small...

SideDriftin',

Thanks for the recipe. I made it for a Thanksgiving appetizer and it worked good!

I make something similar for pretty much every family gathering all year around.

If you don't have smoked fish around, bake some fish up, flake it up, and put in a couple of drops of liquid smoke...almost as good in a pinch.

A little dill is good, as is a little cayenne...I prefer it on the spicy side a a little, and I also like it with a few big tablespoons of horseradish sauce mixed in, or a good glob of wasabi...especially the wasabi.

When it's done I roll it into a ball, and then roll it in flaked parsley and very finely chopped nuts (walnuts are the preferred, but I don't like walnuts and use almonds instead, and no one's complained).

Pop the ball on a serving tray (mine is blue ceramic, and fish shaped, of course!), and surround it by a few different types of crackers.

Bring two...the first one will disappear in a few minutes. Best appetizer ever.

Fish on...

Todd

I was just going to post almost the exact same suggestion, left over bbq salmon makes an awesome dip. I hate to waste good smoked salmon on dip.

I add a bitt of wercester and horseradish.
My new thing is to split the batch and add minced pickled jalapenos and tiger sauce to one of the halves. Start out slow a little goes along way and you can always add more.

I call mine a salmon cheese ball. It goes like this:

One pkg of cream cheese (8 oz) let it sit out and warm up some.

About 4 oz of smoked salmon, flaked.

1/4 Cup or so of finely chopped green pepper.

1/4 Cup or so of finely chopped onion.

Worcestershire sauce - a couple shakes or so.

Salt and pepper, to taste.

Crushed red pepper flakes, also to taste.

A little garlic powder or fresh clove of pressed garlic.

Mix it all up, roll into a ball, wrap in wax paper, refrigerate a while, then take it out and roll the ball in 1/2 Cup of chopped walnuts. Or almonds if Todd is coming over.
