Think I need a smoke now.....I believe that is the Foo Fighters opening/mocking/tributing (hard to tell, although I know the two bands are good friends) up with 2112 for the boys.
Awesome.
Three best songs EVER......from a band that was along time deserving to be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!

In the early/mid '60's, there were several groups around here -The Fabulous Wailers, Kingsmen, Paul Reevre & The Raiders (pre-record contract) & the Sonics. Check this out for a garage band before that term was invented. Raquel Welch is in the vid, which is totally disconnected from the song.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goe2fpeHYLk
Good post Chuck E Most Friday nights usually found me at the Spanish Castle. I was there the night this album by the Wailers was recorded. Gail Harris was only 15 at the time but listen to the pipes on her! The Castle was located on Hiway 99 at Midway, there is a Shell Station there now. Saw lots of groups perform there.
When Hendrix was just a youngin he would sometimes show up and try to sit in. Even recorded a song about the place later on.

E- Bob ~ I never made it to The Spanish Castle as it was too far south but I have that lp. You're right, Gail Harris had some pipes. I think I'll go play her "I idolize you" tune from that lp right now.

this is probably "my" absolute favorite "song".... some like it, some dont, i could listen to it for hours...
Now we're talkin'.
Can never go wrong with AIC. Lots of great bands of old. Don't know if any of the newer bands will ever be considered classic. Some of my favorite rock vocalists have been not in any particular order, Rob Halford, Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant, Geddy Lee, Lane Staley, and Chris Cornell. I also enjoyed Sabbath with Ozzy, however as far as vocal talent goes there is no comparison between Ozzy and the late Ronnie James Dio. He had an amazing voice with a career spanning 50 years. A true inspiration and pioneer in the hard rock genre.
Ann and Nancy do Stairway at the recent Kennedy Center honors to Led Zeppelin, not too bad.

Whoo hooo Ann and Nancy!!
Here's something a little more modern although probably too heavy for any of you to comprehend. I mean,if you really get off listening to stairway over and over and over again to each their own. Saw these guys last night. They kick ass.
My mom changed my first name to Excitable when she heard this number from Warren Zevon.
Rest in Peace, Warren.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Soundgarden kicked so much ass with Badmotorfinger that even if they played polka music from that point forward, they're still pretty f'n cool.
I give you 'Slaves and Bulldozers' as an example of the tasty music from that album. Best song all gen? No, not even the best song on that album, but who cares?

While I love all the old stuff, it's too tired for me anymore....on to newer much better (IMO) genres of music for me. At total random, this is what I am listening to @ work right now: https://soundcloud.com/mrfijiwiji/the-mentalist
