What a joke......Four jobs, four jobs holding up the entire project???? How about we give the jobs out 2-2 to each union and call it good.

If that is not acceptable Inslee can take over some vaseline as he has done so many times before to smooth things over with the union. McGinn could join him if they want to give more donations than Jay can handle.

Can't really call any of our politicians representatives anymore. At least, not representatives of the people.

tunnel delay labor dispute
Tunnel delays equipment problems

The contractor could have ended this by just hiring the longshoremen which represents a mere fraction of the workforce which is comprised of construction union members. The NLRB has their hands in this. Also the contractor could have loaded the dirt on trucks and dumped the dirt in King county instead of barging it to the Olympic Peninsula. If they proposed to ship it via barge then they should have known the longshoremen would be involved. The contractor is still being held to the schedule.

There is no leadership taking these parties into a closed room and letting them know it is their best interest to get the F' back to work. Let them know that these actions WILL affect future contracts and if they don't figure this is out the affect WILL be negative to these unions.

But, that would take leadership. Not just a bunch of political puppets doing as the labor unions want.

I'm not anti union by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just sick and tired of our politicians acting only in the unions best interest instead of the peoples.

By who? And, what is the track record for holding any contractor to any schedule regarding any transportation project in our state? Ya, it'll get done on time and on budget...

Mayor McGinn is against Whole Foods building a store in West Seattle. Saying their wages are too low. But, many city employees wages are below what even Whole Foods pays.

The same day Mcginn makes his last most vocal stand against the Whole Foods development, the grocery workers union comes out with their endorsement of the mayor....
