Hi all! I'm new to this board, but I appreciate the attitude and info shared!

I'm thinking of hitting the Green tomorrow. (Wednesday) Any word on the run the past three or four days??? How's the water looking???

Thanks!

Farmgirl,

Good to see you over here. At least on this BB you won't get some loser accusing you of not being a girl. You know that "other" BB is pretty much a waste of time, just a place to swap insults if you ask me.

Good luck on the Green...........

Fish on.........

Welcome Fishin Farmgirl! I have not fished the Green yet this year. I just wanted to welcome you to Bob's site. I used to use the nwfishing.com site, but got tired of all their BS. This site will help you get what you need. Good luck!!

I've gotten 2 natives and one hatchery fish. Fishing for steelhead is usually slow but can be good. The Indians usually block the river with their nets. Try going to Flaming Geyser park or Palmer. Tight Lines!

Thanks guys!

That was CRAZY on the other BB...I just love to fish and learn, and learn some MORE!!! FINALLY, I've found something that doesn't bore me in two weeks! This site seems pretty constructive...I like that!

Will let you know what happens on the Green! I WAS thinking of going somewhere below Flaming Geyser and working up river...make sense to you all???

Have fun wetting those lines!!!

Farm girl,
From what I understand Icy creek is also very productive as far as brats go. You should be able to find nates all around the system. Good luck. The green has been the LEAN for me since the summer.

With the river coming up but leveling off I would fish Flaming Geyser, in fact I'll be there tommorrow.

Farmgirl,

I'd go to Flaming Geyser and search out Jigman, and then keep your eye on him........you'll probably learn some valuble techniques if he doesn't mind you watching.

Fish on........

I fished flaming geyser this morning but I fish all over the river depending on the height and where the fish are.

Jigman,
I'm sorry we didn't get to fish together on Wednesday...SOMETHING hit my body last night and just wiped me OUT!!! I stayed in bed most of the day!!! I'm STILL takin' it easy today and gonna try for Friday!

Hey...does it make a difference with Steelhead if you fish first light or not??? Do they bite more in the AM and at dusk like other trout???

Yes and No to the question on biting steelies. THey do seem to hit more in early morning and late evening, but you can catch them all day long as long as you change your presentation and read the water carefully. I've caught steelhead (and salmon) all day long as long as I didn't feed them the same presentation (lure, eggs, etc). It's easier to go out fishing with someone then to try and explain all this over the internet.

tight lines..Jerry

PS, I may know you, if you get any UPS deliveries. I'm a UPS guy out in Gig Harbor. I cover almost all of the harbor (including key peninsula and Olalla). Maybe I'll see you out there or you can email me back above.....take care and good luck

I like to fish them in the morning but have caught them in the evening. If nobody else ever fished the river I would sleep in and wander out late and still catch fish, the pressure on the fish is what puts them down not the time of day. Weather is also a factor, the sun will effect them. Sorry to hear about your illness, it seems to be going around.
