Me too. I had a 911 Carrera for a long time. Too much fun as long as the rear end didn't break loose. The sound of the engine revving near red line was to die for. (And a chick magnet to boot.)

I had a turbo charged lotus elise. 0-60 in 3.9. Its a sin to mention the car in our household.

Thought it impressive that the windshield wipers work nicely at 159 mph but that throaty V8 would likely drown out the factory stereo....

Miss getting pinned to the bucket seat in that 1970 SS 454. The 68 GTO 4-speed 400 was fun too, sure ate clutch disks.

Maybe it was my lead foot?

Yeah, it was. cool

I know the feeling. Friend had the same *Goat* as you did and it also munched clutches. Former neighbor still has his 69 SS. Helped him R&R the original 396 and put in a 427 hemi. He raced it a couple times at SIR and said it was too hard on his baby. Put it up on blocks in his garage... in 1970. The thing probably has less than 10k miles on it and he still has the original 396. Money in the bank....

you mean a 426 Hemi? a Dodge motor in a Chevelle?

the BB Chev 427 isnt a "hemi", but its one of the baddest motherfvckers ever created.. and alot of the true muscle cars that are driven today, even some of the euro/touring rods that are being built, will still eat just about anything on the road including high end German and Italian model cars....

American muscle always wins... always...

thats even worse Hank...

putting a Ford motor in a Chevelle or Elco or even a C/10 is sacreligious...

putting a BB Chev in a foxbody Stang for race purposes is another... wink

that 427 was a "semi" Hemi, and it is far harder to create than the 426 Hemi or the 426 Max Wedge even....

Chev's 427 wasnt a hemi, it was an iron and now, aluminum block bad ass, and one of the best motors ever created...

That'd be a kick in the pants! Love the sound. Car was either floating or buried into the track with the ups and downs.

Would love to do a few laps in the Z, and then a 1098R Ducati.

Ah, come on, Nate could match that in his Taurus. If he hadn't run it into a wall, that is.

That's a pretty nice Chevy, much cooler than my ole '55 Bel Air hardtop. Although the '55 was a girl getter too, in its day. It was the chrome muffler bearings that won the day, I think.

Love the shift to top gear @ 132 mph. That's one sweet ride.

i used to eat a S600 V12 Benz that was up in Renton, driving my aunts Mitsu 3000 GT VR-4 with over 20k into the motor...

the look on that guys face was priceless...

(that car would have eaten basically anything that came up against it, theres always the 1 tho)

(the Taurus was never mine, i also didnt drive it much, not really a Ford fan besides the fox bodies and the F250s and 350s.)

He must not have known how to drive or had a life worth not losing when he hit a telephone pole.
