I'm planning on getting a summer job on the Kenai (around the Homer or Seward area). I was wondering if anybody out there could help me. Even if it is just a phone number or an email address. Also I was wonder if a 9 weight G Loomis fly rod would be enough to haul in a king??????

9 would do it if you are fishing on the small streams like Kasilof, Ninilcik. Those fish are 15 to 30 pounds. Now if you are going to fish in July they are a bit bigger and these critters are tough. Get yourself a pair of track shoes. kidding of course.
The 9 is also good for the Reds. Now there is some action. I used to use a 5 wt. for Reds but at times I wish it was a bit bigger.
You should have fun up there. Lotsa bank fishing but sometimes you got to go look for them. fp

Leave your email and I'll send you the adress of an old Clearwater Flyfishing Steelhead PRO and shop owner who now resides in Soldotna. He's got lots of contacts in the area and could pass on to you some numbers and names you could send a resume to.
9-wts are adequate in the Kenai in some situations. Target the reds with a 7 to 8wt. Have fun with the big boys on a 9wt.
