Why is it that we are forced to buy this crap with no quality options.

What I am saying is from the 1920's to the early 1980's when you purchased a refrigerator or a range you had to replace it when cosmetically it was just too out of date because the damn things would run for 60 years+ before needing repairs or replacement due to failure.

Now when you purchase an appliance even if you purchase the most expensive one you will be lucky to get 8 years out of it.

We are being scammed!!

That does not explain it, since Gnomes are master appliance repairmen and most definitely would be keeping your refer running if they took up residence in it.....

Maybe if we want to outmaneuver NAFTA we need more Gnomes??

I never said it was a conspiracy.

If you want a conspiracy I can give you that; why are we not using Tesla's "free unplugged" electricity system? We would not be using fosil fuels at all right now if this was not being kept from us.

In the 1920's Tesla held a press conference where he unvieled an electric car which would do 90mph, 0 to 60 in like 7 seconds. And required no fuel source or charging...... It gained it's power remotely from the environment, gathering up electricity that naturally occurs in the environment and is free. This is completely true and well documented as is his "tower" system.

So why do we need efficient appliances anyways??? I would rather have one that lasts forever and uses free remote electricity...

And the Philadelphia project really happened as well, Tesla, Einstein and Oscar Schneider were the scientists responsible, well not really Oscar, he was a defected NAZZI medical doctor.

Really the last major project Tesla worked on before his death, Tesla was paranoid after this as well, lived in a hotel and slept at random addresses regularly until he died. FBI siezed his notes and papers even before the cops showed up.

Conspiracy or no, today's consumer products are $hit, and I agree with Rich on this one.

Consider how ridiculous it is to implement technology that makes a fridge more efficient, for the sake of being "green," if the resulting hit in product longevity leads to 6x as many refrigerators being dumped into the ocean as would be with the old technology. Seems like a poor trade-off to me.

On the plus side, you can watch Netflix on your fridge while you cook....
