Just got back from a long day. Fishing was awsome once I finally got there. We did Sekiu, but I had a detour when I lost my boat off the truck. Dam near rolled it on the hill going down the Lyre river before the safety chains gave way. The fastener on the ball hitch popped off and the trailer came free at 55mph attached to me

. The boat swayed back and forth behind the truck for couple hundred feet and rammed the rear end of the truck and canopy then headed for the ditch with a blown tire from the swaying.
The boat came out alot better than the truck. with only the big motor lower end ground down some. This happened at 6 am. After inspecting the damage and seeing we could still fish if I could find a tire and repair the coupler. Back to town I went in search of a 5 lug 12 incher. I checked my house but found only a 4 lug spare. Stopped by a friends and got lucky!!! He loaned me his spare for the day. Woohoo off to sekiu again.
Once there fishing started slow for us until we located the school...Then the double headers started....We first hit lots of nice wild fish. THen we found the hatchery school of nice fish.
One of the funniest sites you could imagine was given to me by my partner as he was trying to take a leak and his pole was buried with a fish on the other side of the boat. He wanted me to grab the rod but I just laughed at him to watch his predicament.
Down goes my rod after he gets to his pole
After getting the his fish in he rebaited and went to go finish his leak, but he only got to unbutton the fly and the rod goes down again...Tooo funny!!! Boom my rod goes down doubled up again.
We used cut plug herring with 4 oz metzler sinkers. I was down 50 yards of line on the reel counter at 60 degree angle motor mooching. When fish would stop biting I would let it free fall down to 70 and be immediately struck.
Was a great day except for the truck and my back has stiffened up so I can barely walk.
If you got time off... get to Sekiu immediately for some of the best fishing around. Bring lots of bait
Lots of tight Lines
